Northwest, Have you tried Netflix? They don't have too many dramas to choose from, but the ones they have are good. Glass Slipper, Save the Last Dance for Me, Palace (the Princess Hours) and about half-a-dozen more.
They do have a pretty large collection of K movies.

Door60 - I agree, I don't like that historical kdrama on the weekends; Dae Yo Jeung (?). I keep checking to see what episode they are on so that I have an idea when the series will end and a new one will begin.
I don't think I've never had Korean food except for Kim-chi which I really liked. Although I vaguely remember, many years ago going to a restaurant in Fort Lee that I think was Korean.

Northwest-
Where in NJ are you? I have relatives in Somerset Co. (Warrenville/Watchung area) I went to a Korean restaurant in Fort Lee . It was huge! I think it was called So Kong Dong Restaurant. It was long time ago.

Anna: Right by Fort Lee is an area called Palisades, where there is a thriving Korean community. If you ever go to see your relatives in Somerset, let me know, I will meet you in Palisade Park for some soju! Northwest: I check out the week-end show too -- just to see when it will end. But I have a feeling they're going to put another historical drama after this one. I guess there is a following for this sort of stuff -- just not me!

Anna: Besides Fort Lee and Palisades Park, Tenafly has a large Korean community too. Tenafly is probably about 15 or 20 minutes away from Fort Lee but going in the opposite direction from Palisades Park. Door60: Oh I hope they don’t put on another historical show. I really don’t like them. I loved the Imfamous Chill Sisters when that was shown on the weekends and Pure In Heart was shown on weeknights. Although then I had to be home every night of the week! At least with this Dae Jo Young show, I don’t have to be home Sat & Sun night!

This will be the 5th kdrama for me and I have to say that so far my favorites have been Chill Sisters and Likable or Not. Coming in 2nd place for me would be Pure in Heart and I think this one.
Coming in last place for me would be High as the Sky - although I liked that one a lot, it didn't always keep me on the edge of my seat the way the others ones did.
My dad was stationed in Fort Dix too when he was in the army.

Looks like people are from all over. As frustrating as these dramas are, they are great for bringing people closer to the culture. Total non-korean, korean here (if that makes any sense) and the dramas have definately given me a different perspective on the culture and subcultures with in korean society.
In my opinion, this drama has been the least of my favorites of the station's series. The funny thing is that you can tell that the sets, cars and locations are all the same! You would think that they would at least change out the cars. Hosae's driving Seonjae's and Subin is driving Danpung's.

Now that you've mentioned the vehicles, Ifc, I totally see it lol! They could've at least changed the colours x.x.

I've noticed that too! It looks like the sets in all these dramas are so similiar if not the same! I thought it was just me.

I mean you figure that you're making one of the biggest dramas that korea watches because you're one of the major broadcasting companies, yet you're too cheap to get new cars? I'm sure loads of people would love to buy those drama-used cars! Plus I can't stand the interior design of the sets. Sometimes I think Koreans don't have any taste! As for the set designs, the really should stop using the same as well. They're way too similar that you start subconsciously compare them to each other!

I am amazed that you are all surprised that the same sets are used for different dramas. LOL . . . . HOLLYWOOD does the same thing - they move the staircase from stage left to stage right to stage center . . . use a big throw over the sofas, chairs etc. At Warner Bros. studios in LA/Hollywood, there is a HUGE warehouse where all sorts of props are stored. All of these items have been used in a lot of different movies - they cannot buy new furnishings etc. every time a new show is filmed. It's just not cost efficient. Hollywood does do a better job in disguising the sets to look totally different - Korea will catch up soon - give 'em a break - Hollywood and USA TV have been filming for many, many years; Korea is a veritable "newcomer" and has made gigantic steps in all areas of TV/Films -- Besides, does it really matter so much to you if it's the same sofa or chairs from one drama to another? I'm a lot more interested in the CONTENT of the show, the acting, film editing and of course, English subs -- They can do away with ALL OF THE PROPS if the story and acting are good enough to hold my interest.

I did notice that Hoasae borrowed SJ's car.lol but not Subin using the same car as DP. I usually don't care much about those things. I notice certain things but to me it's whatever.
