Thank heaven for your spoilers, pilseung! There is no way I could stick with this drama to the bitter end, half an hour, five nights a week. You caught me up in a few minutes. I could read thru the boring stuff fast and concentrate on the good parts, well, sorta good.
I suppose Miok had to die to pay for her sin of abandoning Saebyeok even tho she went all out to make up for it in the end. And selfish, jealous, stuck-up, plain evil MIL, who insulted just about everybody in the cast, gets to live because she did it all for HONOR and FAMILY!
Give me a break.

And what a 'horrible' payback MIL gets back too, puppy, to live with a DIL who loves her to death. Surely MIL can't feel guilty over Miok's death as it was Sabby's decision whom to save and MIL didn't ask her to do it. Aigu, I applaud the writers =/.

You know brooklyn, maybe the writers really are that subtle.
MIL's punishment is to spend the rest of her life with an adoring DIL she tried to kill. What tasty irony. That's her source of guilt, not Miok's death. Can you imagine having to face somebody you don't really like every day who's unfailingly pleasant and who saved your life?
If this drama went on for another ten-thousand episodes, we'd watch MIL go slowly nutz!

What a bogus ending! Miok dyong like a flower in full make-up and hair do; MIL sweeping out some ashran or something. Did she ever thank Sabby? No. She feels guilty because she couldn't save Miok, not for being a jerk the whole time. I can't believe Sabby said, "I love you."
And what's the deal with the pink sweatshirts? Soyeong's movie? (I'd forgotten all about it.) Yuri suddenly becoming a concert pianist? The doctor's letter to Subin which we never see. (Maybe it said, "take a hike. I met a nice Nigerian gal.")
I'm ready for Monday, dor, even if it's notr a historical.

Is anyone as shocked and angry as I at what happened to Subin's Mom in the last (Fri.) episode. she was supposed to be the comic relief! she's a terrific actress, has been in may dramas. I enjoyed watching her crazy antics. There was a certain innocence about the character. She was not deliberately mean like that mother-in-law from hell, just a bit ditzy.

Did I miss something, sandra? In her last scene, Yeonsil made the family take a photo in their pink shirts and said she'd ALWAYS liked Saybeok (even though she slapped her a couple of times in the beginning). It was a happy ending for her as far as I could tell. Why were you shocked and angry?

Yes, she fell down some stairs and had a miscarriage and then had to have a D&C. She's home now and is really feeling depressed over losing the baby. Grandma came over all cheery because she didn't know about it and was giving YSL all that advice. Younsil then told her that she had a miscarriage and that it was brought on by her doing the exercises that GM told her to do. It was a rather sad scene because she portrayed her sorrow very convincingly - I actually felt sorry for her. That was todays episode: Tues 3/10, is that what you're referring to? We still have some episodes left here in Chicago. We have some episodes to go until it finally ends. I will give one BIG CHEER when it finally is over. It is, without doubt, the WORST K-drama I have ever watched here in Chicago and it will be a relief to have it over.

Well, this new one that's on in New York now is confusing me already, Dad Loves Trouble or something. The actor who plays Li Kaigu is the main character, he looks good with his short hair and I recognized the actress who plays his mum, she was the spoilt mother from high as the sky who adopted yeonsil and that brother and she's Yeongsu's nice MIL in MDU.

Thanks, dodgerman. I was kind of puzzled.
And Soapy, I know you've watched your share of dramas and speak from experience when you say YAMD was the worst ever. I'm totally in agreement. Am I right in saying it was also the longest or one of the longest ever?
Dad Loves Trouble may be the shortest ever for me, and so far, it's a close second to YAMD in my estimation. The setting is interesting but I can't seem to like the characters; they're always grimacing and shouting. And there's no tension. We go from wild incident to wild incident. The trailer last nite promised a surprise or two but didn't I read here that the story's only 5 episodes long? Is everything wrapped up tonight?

Yes Puppy, it is one of the longest. I'm not sure it actually IS the longest - but it sure feels like it! I still do not understand how this drama was so popular in Korea??? Compared to MANY other stories, this was lame. I am finding a common thread in many of the dramas. The writers try to cram in TOO MANY plot lines instead of developing main ones that make sense. Cultural differences should not make the show totally ridiculous, as this one has with Sabby, the I'm Sorry Queen. I turn it on and watch a little and when she starts being that stupid martyr saying I'm sorry for things she isn't even responsible for - well - I just walk away or tune in something else. LOL -- This is the FIRST and ONLY show that I have ever felt this disappointed with the story. It started out okay and then just got dumber and dumber, in my opinion. Oh well, it's almost over here in Chicago and I am hopeful that whatever comes next will be an improvement because I just cannot imagine one that would be worse!!
