Everyone who feels disappointed...

raise your hand. This ending was a HUGE disappointment: loose ends, unanswered questions, a bizarre, partial ending - - awful.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to do some venting, without seeming overly eager to do so, pip!

It's difficult to believe that somebody didn't fool around with the tape, isn't it? How can writers end a drama all about family, with a mother drilling her 5 year-old son about who he likes best, her or his father, or her or his friend -- and then, when he tells her that he likes her but, as far as who he'd prefer to marry, he'd rather marry his little friend, this mother gives the kid hell, even hits him in the head, and the last shot of the entire drama shows the poor little guy crying like crazy. Something went very wrong there. Although I always found Mijin (correct?) completely obnoxious and then some, I understood that we were intended to find her cute, bold, unusual, creative, and a breath of fresh air. I don't know if that's how people outside of Korea are supposed to see Korean mothers, but to use your word, pip, it really was awful. I've wondered about all of the hitting and personal violence that these shows have their characters inflicting upon one another within the family or from men toward women. Even their style of massage doesn't seem to include rubbing or manipulating, but rather hitting. Ditto helping babies to belch up their little air bubbles. What the k-dramas show as ordinary and unremarkable, here in the U.S. would result in the kids being in foster care and the parents being in jail.

I was really ticked-off, pip. And if somebody who has personal knowledge of the Korean culture wants to cut in here and tell us how much of a reflection the violence in k-dramas is of real Korean society, your input would be very helpful and welcome.

i'm with all of you! did everyone else go on to other projects and she and that poor little boy the only ones lrft yeah, i couldn't believe she smacked him in the head! What's the point! BTW, did you see one more of the "beauties" from "chit chat with the beauties" she was the "american" that was working with Suhyeon in New York. i would have liked to have seen a little more about Suhyeon & Giha Oh Well!

Count me in. This series had its ups and downs, but this last episode may have been the worst of any last episode I've seen.

Why would Mijin move out (into that ugly apartment) when the whole theme of the show was about her metamorphosis into Boksu's family? Boksu, if true to his character, would never leave his family. I thought he made it clear that it wasn't an option for him, and if she couldn't handle it, not to marry him.

It also looked to me that Boksu didn't follow through with his new business and ended up back at the family restaurant. If so, moving out would be as stupid as it looked.

And has anyone ever seen two skinnier "pregnant" women??

Horrendous.

*What did Boknam name her baby? We never found out.
*Why didn't someone stop Mijin pulling Boksu's ears so hard and so long that he screamed and screamed?
*What was that pointless scene about where Mijin and Misun were loafing and tickling instead of working at the restaurant?
*What happened to...well, *everyone* besides Mijin?
*Did she Mijin lose her mind? Was that why she hit Jinsu? Is that why she and Boksu moved so far away from the family?
*What about Junmyeong and his wife and *their* baby?
*I could go on but won't.
It was clear that changes from tradition occurred in Misun's generation and again in her children's generation, but it seemed as if everything fell apart in just one generation.
I watched this after a long day with a hospitalized friend. It made me wish I'd gone to bed instead.

Well, I missed the episode because I had to attend a concert and my VCR recorder won't work - so -- I came to this forum to find out how it ended --- Now I'm beginning to think that I was lucky that I had NOT seen it.

Just hearing that Minjin and Boksu moved out is amazing to me - I thought Minjin was getting along so well with the in-laws - \I wonder how this ending was received in Korea? Did the ending make the Korean viewers as angry as all of you/us

I enjoyed many of the episodes of this drama and the ying[yang of comedy and drama was done well in many instances. But from what I"m understanding from the comments here, the ending was simply horrible. So, in a way, I'm glad I missed it - yet - part of me - well - I'm sooo nosy I guess I'll have to tune in on Tuesday for the replay - then I can vent with the rest of you! ;D

I have to agree with everyone about the ending. They could have taken some time from the scenes where Mijin was acting all cutesy towards the evil aunt/MIL and added those minutes to the reunion of Suhyeon and Gihia. For a drama that seemed endless, they sure rushed those last few episodes. I wondered too about the final scene where mijin made her little boy cry. Was that to prove that she hasn't matured at all? i dunno, it almost feels like the writers were suddenly told to wrap it up in 2 more episodes and that's why everything ended so abruptly.

Oh well, does anyone know what will be airing next in this time slot?

So sorry, but I really felt that Saturday's finale was an insult to our intelligence.

I've been watching K- shows and movies for about 6 years, and this, I think, was the worst ending ever.

I was a little upset with the show after Grandmother died.(I did not see the point of making her character exit the show)I missed Friday's episode and half of last Saturday's episode.
However, I did tune into the last show. And it was a little disappointing. I would have like to see the Doctor's Ex-wife married again.

I agree with everything said above, and then some. The episode with Grandma's death was so incredibly sad, and even though I couldn't stand the woman, she was what held that nutty family together. When she died, the heart and soul went out of the show; they threw all the pathos and character development into that episode, and then it was like all the characters turned into creepy zombie versions of what they were before. Or betrayed what they we believed them to have been before. Like Mijin being so eager to get away from the family and being exasperated with MIL for wanting to visit once a week. How did that happen? And remember how she screamed at all the people in the office? WTH?

The stupid sequence of "conception dream"-->whoops, everyone's pregnant for 5 minutes and now it's 9 months later-->whoops, now it's 5 YEARS later.... ridiculous. Why were Mijin and Mom lazing around watching TV while Dad and Boksu ran the restaurant? Not that they don't deserve a rest, but what was the point of showing them being so slothful and indifferent about it?

I enjoyed so many things about this drama. I always enjoy a story in which a character won't give up on being nice to an awful, cold person (Mijin and the aunt), and the cold person eventually thaws. That was a nice touch, to see the aunt healing a bit under the onslaught of Mijin's crazy attention. But the rest of it was just, kind of insane!

It did seem to be a really rushed ending once Grandma died. I agree with most of what everyone else has mentioned here except I never liked Giha so had no interest in how his life went. I think that Boknam and Inu named their daughter Yuna. That's why Mijin hit her son and told him he couldn't marry Yuna. The couples were getting really close so their kids would probably also spend a lot of time together too. I would have liked to see part of Boknam's Pig's Feet restaurant drama that they were all watching.

Oh, P.S., another thing I resented was that they all went so nuts over the report that Boknam had gone into labor that they abandoned Grandma's memorial service. Tell me they couldn't have taken 5 seconds of the time they spent running around changing clothes in order to at least make a few bows and say a word for Grandma!

I know I was kind of attached to Grandma too.
She was very stern and cold in the beginning. But, she was a very important part of the family.

I'm not certain about the bowing. The whole scene was a little hectic with Mijin and Boknam going into labor.
One good point was that they did show their families expanding. I'm glad they both had babies in the end. And it was good to see the doctor back with his first wife. However,I thought he would eventually work it out with his second wife. He never stop loving the first wife.

Grandma reminds me of a combination of Yeon Gaesomun from DJY and Fred Sanford…
She grew on me as the show went on, and I was sad to see her die.

Besides Jungmyeong (sp?) getting back with his 1st wife and being happy as a country doctor, (reminded me of Chill Sisters) the only other part I liked was looking at the newborns being held by the nurses. Beautiful babies would be an understatement.

BUT… then the dads start juggling them back and forth! I couldn't believe my eyes. They weren't using dolls as far as I could tell, they looked like real babies! How could they just manhandle them like that??

Stunt babies?? I don't think so.
