Does anyone out there have an idea how much (historical) time has elapsed in the show so far? I know the deposition of the emperor, by action of Yi Ui Bang, Chung Jung Bu et al. was supposed to be 1170 AD, but how far past 1170 are we at this point? For example, in what year does Ui Bang get assassinated? I am curious because this is quite a volatile period in Asian history. In Japan the Taira (Heike) were paramount as of 1170 but their great fall at the hands of the Minamoto (Genji) was soon coming (1180-1185). By 1263, Koryo was forced to offer concessions to Kublai Khan who had conquered all of China and many neighboring states. By 1274, Koryo is forced by Kublai to act as a launching point for the first of two attempted Mongol invasions of Japan (both of which result in a large loss of life of Korean sailors that were forced to take part in the expeditions). In any case, you can see why I'm curious about the time period, for it is indeed a turbulent one on a very large regional scale.

They already overthrew the emperor, the current one you see seems strong sometimes but mostly weak (the Dowager Empress even told him he was weak). In reality though Yi Ui-Bang did not assassinate the deposed emperor, Chung Jung Bu sent a few of his men to visit the emperor, they got him drunk then rolled him up in a carpet and dumped him into a lake.

Wako, to answer your question, about 5 years have passed so now it would be 1175. That's some interesting info that you posted but based on what I know about 'The Age of Warriors', I don't think the drama covers anything that far into the 1200's.

I don't think the show is going to end when chung-bu dies. Remember the main character is still Yi Ui-Min. I believe or rather hope the show ends when

Yi Ui-Min attains power

Well, to add in my knowledge of Korean History (based on the aforementioned Korean History Project, here's what i see in the future... [glow=red,2,300]SPOILERS[/glow] A significant portion of the show will deal with Yi Ui-Min's rule. But they will probably do what they did in Dawn of the Empire, and flash forward past much of Yi Ui-Min's rule, and end the show with General Choe and his brother taking control. But we shall see...
