That was a great ending to a great drama. Even though I cheated and asked Mikey for the ending in advance, I went through quite a few kleenex. I will miss this show.
I love the way the Korean dramas flash forward and wrap up all the story lines.

I really liked this drama. It's a shame it had to end. I thought Chae Rim (Yeon-ho) and Choi Soo Jung (Tae-woong) had good chemistry on screen. The relationship between Tae-man and Soon-ho was lacking though. Like all dramas some stuff was a bit over the top but I think, in the end, the relationship between Yeon-ho and Tae-woong more than made up for all of the rest. It's funny because before episode 49 I was wondering how they were going to wrap up this drama and bring up the issues of the money and Tae-woong's surgery in 4 episodes. I think that was all handled effectively though. The only problem I had with the ending was that I think it should have ended on the scene of Tae-woong, Yeon-ho and their son going into their home. The couple of scenes after that were fine but not necessary.

Episode 52
I couldn’t believe that the show had to come to an end. I thought the show was great and full of amicable character’s that I could relate too. However, the ending was good but a bit hard for me to follow. One reason when Tae-woong had shut his eyes in the operation room and open them it appears as if they did a 3 year flash forward. I would of loved to have seen his whole reaction after going through that life threatening surgery. Second, I was not quite sure how Jung-ran’s sister having a baby played a part and they only showed that scene of Jung-ran running to the hospital to get her. Also, I thought it was going to be a scene where we see all the family together in the new house. Well, overall the show was great and brought many tries of happiness but the quick ending kind of threw me off track.

I agree with you, knov1, that the natural ending seemed to have been when Tae-woong & Yon-ho entered the house. They could have panned the camera back so we could see the "house on the green prairie". I watched the replay this morning. I missed some dialogue Saturday night because I was wiping my eyes but I also knew they removed a scene (thx to advance summary from Mikey): Tae-woong was being wheeled into surgery. His family was all around him. He was holding Yon-ho's hand. As the attendants were taking him to the operating room, he sat up. Yon-ho used sign language to tell him she had faith in him and she loved him. They had eye contact until the doors of the operating room closed. It was quite a touching scene.

I barely watched the taped ending of OTP. It was so-so. It did have some very emotional scenes. But I felt like it was trying to wrap up too much too quickly. The one scene that I especially did like though was the one where Soon-ho and Tae-man were at the airport. Soon-ho looked amazing with her long, long hair and cute outfit. It seemed to me like she was so much more confident in herself. It was a cute show, probably better it ended here so we wouldn't get tired of the characters.

Did they really cut out this scene in Chicago? What a shame! Ok, I have to admit that I watched Green Prairie sporadically here in LA but the scene of Yon-ho signing to Tae-woong was my favorite scene in the entire series.

Please see my question about the ending under the thread "Help, Please!" (By the way, I'm not the "lucy" who posted above.)

Ok, I have to admit that I watched Green Prairie sporadically here in LA but the scene of Yon-ho signing to Tae-woong was my favorite scene in the entire series. I taped the last 3 episodes and just finished watching them. The scene with Yeon-Ho doing the sign language was indeed there. I would have liked to see the post-op recovery but I did enjoy the ambiguity of whether he was dead or alive. It could have been 3 years later, and life was moving on. I loved what I saw of it (last 1/2 or so of series). But I do like that there was a story arc that ended instead of it being like some endless 25 year American soap opera. Was anyone else bothered that "Dr" Yeon-Ho was always dressed in jeans like some college student & rarely ever went to work?

Sniff, sniff. I just discovered the final episode on one of my tapes (you know the kind...you tape over...and over...and over them!).
I popped in the wrong tape and saw a few seconds of Phoenix and then BAM! The final episode of OTGP....Sigh...I really loved this show. It brought back a lot of memories. What a great (tormenting the first time I saw it) ending.

This was my first K-Drama so I didn't watch it from the beginning. But once I started watching it I was hooked. I thought it was pretty good and the ending was just how I would've wanted, HAPPY! I'm glad that everything worked out, even though at the last episode they tricked us by the whole "memorial" thing. I seriously thought the main character (cant remember his name) had died.

I agree completely, Alexa, and this is the show that got me interested in so many other dramas I hope it gets repeated, so I can see the first 15 or so episodes which i missed by getting into it a bit late. If it ever comes out on DVD with subtitles, I'll be sure to buy it!
