i First noticed this on Emperor /Sea and it was more predominant on DJY and Jumong so im guessing it must be a K Drama not for the squeemish type thing . People are captured and comdemned to death yet at the execution instead of being beheaded they are slashed across the chest or back ,yet later on the offenders head is presented in a box .
Now i know its television and i do not expect a beheading to be shown but the way they are done here seems stupid . In Japanese Historical dramas (and chinese )the condemned bows their head and camera cuts to the sword and thats it ,but the point is it is made very clear the person was beheaded where as in DJY we are told the person was beheaded yet they are taken to the execution ground and slashed across the chest or back ,this also happened on Jumong to a Han general who was one of the main bad guys .
I just cant figure out why these K Historical dramas do it this way ,it is my pet peeve because you do not have to the show the execution but can make it very clear what happened ,but to alude to someone being beheaded while clearly showing something else just drives me nuts .
Anyway thats my biggest and most major gripe .

i think i saw one actual beheading on a historical drama -- it's generally smething they don't do...i guess part of it is to show the drmataic look of the person dying (hard to do if their head is off their body). i take it that Korean Histroical Drama producers are not fans of the TV show Highlander
