The consensus seems to be that Dongji is behaving appropriately however much it annoys some of us. And it does seem to be working as I've noticed along with soapy a slight warm up of MIL. She actually talks to her, asks a question now and then instead of giving orders or complaining. Maybe there is something to this notion of "getting attached" although I doubt it would fly here. Do you think we'll see a scene now where Dongji loosens up towards MIL? I don't mean she should sit down and dish but maybe pay her a compliment or at least look her in the eye and smile occasionally.

I noticed that too, Pippibella. There seems to be slight warmup but not so's Dongji can relax. Last nite, MIL told Dongji to take her credit card and buy a new dress See, again, I don't remember this happening. When is the parents' dinner?? As far as I know, there has been no formal talk of this. I did not think I saw the credit card scene..Was that scene one that was edited out? I can see that the MIL is a little bit nicer, but lets not give her to much credit now. she should treat people nicely. it is so funny though when mansu says sweet things to his wife or brings her gifts, she is so jealous that she is always making comments like "do that in your room" or " your not kids stop acting that way". i think it is sweet. my hubby Of 11 years are like that all the time. i hope we still are like that when we are old and gray!

MIL's jealousy when her son kissed Dongji is a little weird. I suppose it's just a matter of wanting all his attention. (There was a scene in the very beginning when she summons him home from work just to rub her shoulders). But then why isn't she jealous of Sua.? Maybe because Mansur hardly talks to his daughter.

SUA is her bloodline = Dongji is not. MIL is still trying to get over the fact that her son married the woman she had FORBIDDEN him to marry years ago -- glaciers don't melt at warp speed =- neither do hostile in-laws

We finally see the credit card scene and jyeongs new hair style on yesterdays ep. i thought i was going crazy because i did not think jyeongs hair looked different before.. that is because that comment was not in chicago's eps..

Sorry about that PippiBella. I'm being very careful about spoilers now and posting all my "aheads" in the Turning Point thread.

;D Puppy thank you for being considerate to those of us who prefer NOT to read spoilers and recognizing that this is a Chicago oriented board - your courtesy is acknowledged and most appreciated. Kamsa hamnida.

Is THAT how it's spelled. I've been wanting to say that in a post so many times but was too chicken to try to sound it out. Kamsa hamnida!

I thought it was 'gamsahamnida'? Puppy, its better to learn the korean alphabet instead of romanisation. The alphabet is a lot easier to read and write than to learn the spoken language (for me, anyway!)

;D The way I spell it is the way my friend Jason spelled it out for me. He is Korean, from Korea LOL, and he said the K and G sound alike in Korean but that for the formal Thank You - he prefers to spell it with the K - That was some years ago when the only board I posted on was the Phlly board. He and I still correspond and have dinner with his wife and daughter whenever I get out to California. So I will continue using it just the way Jason showed me. Kamsa hamnida!

Dongji has been married to Mansu for more than 100 days, so why shouldn't she have a credit card? That MIL looked so ticked off when Dongji told her that she didn't need MIL's card. And Dongji looked... what....embarrassed? sorry? apologetic?? Now this reminds me of Pride and Prejudice and how Mr. Collins toadies to the rich aunt. Dongji isn't as bad as he is, anyway.

And speaking of that credit card, I guess we finally have reached the point promised to used so many weeks ago by our out-of-town visitors, that Grandma is annoyed that Dongji has a credit card... LOL!

You don't have to be from out-of-town to be current with what they're showing in Korea.
I think MIL may have been angry because her 'grand gesture' was rejected. Dongji should have just taken the card. She's mute on so many things and chose this moment to speak up! LOL.
