I like them all, but if I had to pick an absolute favorite, it would be Mr. Na. His smile and chubby little-boy like face can light up a room, but he can start shouting and get very emotional within a few short seconds (usually because of something his wife says or does) Still, he's very modest and hard working, and he probably steered Seonjae and DanPung on the right path while they were growing up. DanPung is decent and honest, but Seonjae's character is quite another story, though ...

I like danpung, sonya, chan (so cute)and also warming up to baekho.. I can see that baekho is falling for danpung. it is cute the way stares at her. i cannot stand seonjates mom, evil grandma and devil spawn sua. even thou sua sincerely likes seongate, she is going about it the sneaky way knowing he has a girlfriend and is having work problems and is desperate for $$.
also i agree with MISTERBILL48. i LOVE danpungs dad reactions to his wife. he need to keep that one on a short leash. she is too obsessed with sua and her own status and happiness.

I'm warming up to Baekho who annoyed me at frst with his "Aw shucks" goofiness and pouty mouth, especially now that we see how well he cooks. And Misterbill is right about Mr. Na. He's a good, solid man with a harpy for a wife who probably twisted her son's values. The household would be serene without her. (But then there'd be no drama for us to write about.) The only other character that never annoys me is Sonya. She has her head straight. The supposed good guys can turn me off at times. Danpung strings along that doc, Jiyong makes me cry, and baekho's mom is too sweet when she should let loose and too mean to her brother and son. So my votes go to Mr. Na and Sonya.

Maiae (sp?) is awful, maybe on a par with Grandmother but without the power. She's selfish and immature. She's trying to turn back the clock and pretend she has no responsibility for her son. We didn't see how her marriage went before, though, so maybe she had some reason to walk out. She certainly is single-minded about her success, but dumb the way she asked her sister (or aunt?) to sell her land so she could use the money. I forgot what she wanted it for, but it struck me as off the wall and unnecessary at the time, shocking in how self-centered she showed herself to be. No shame at all. Danpung is my favorite right now, and Sonya. Mansu would be, if he'd stand up to his mother. Sheesh, can't he ask his wife to meet him for lunch a few times a week? Why should she be the servant to evil MIL when they have the money for a maid? MIL is so awful; I hope she suffers later for being cruel. Maybe Mansu should show how he feels-isn't he sympathetic with his wife, doesn't it hurt him to see her worn down into a sickbed??* Now I'm getting mad at him again. *If he suffered maybe his mother would change so he'd feel better?

Ginny, I think Mansu has been out-of-touch with things his whole life. He seems oblivious to tension in the house. From a few comments Sua made, that is her experience of growing up with her father. That was her main objection to Dongji. That instead of giving attention to her, he now has even less time for her since he got himself a wife. I think just has he has to bear some responsbility for the current situation in the house, he also has to bear responsibility for the brat being the way she is.
Danpung is my favourite too. She is young and sweet. Ambitious but not to the extent of stepping on people's toes or casting aside family and friends for ambition. If only she can get rid of her ill-suited b.f., I would like her more!

About Mansu not sticking up for Dongji more overtly, I want to mention that this usually backfires in Korean dramas. The mother-in-law is very traditional and thinks of the DIL as her property, and it's her duty to "train" her. The running of the household is something that's the province of the eldest woman, unless she abdicates to the DIL or another younger woman, like if there's an unmarried daughter living there. And her son, like all the younger people in the house, is supposed to be loyal to her. So if he starts taking his wife's side or getting in the middle of arguments between DIL and MIL, it looks bad for the DIL. We've seen this already. Whenever Mansu has spoken up for Dongji, MIL immediately acts like it's a betrayal, and she takes it out on Dongji, whom she assumes has put Mansu up to it. There is a certain element here of the son not wanting to seem to put his mother out to pasture now that there's a new lady of the household. It would be nice, though, if the Korean culture we see in the dramas made provision for people to sit down with each other and speak gently but honestly with each other. Something along the lines of, "Mother, I respect you and so does Dongji, but physically she can't stand this. She's not 23 years old like your first daughter-in-law. Could you please be understanding and let us get some household help? Then Dongji can be even more attentive to you." However, I also think there is a definite element of sadism in MIL's treatment of her. She wants to see her suffer.
Anyway, so if he takes a more active role in trying to protect Dongji, there's just going to be a backlash against Dongji.
I like Mansu, too, but his big yellow teeth are not the most attractive thing. Overall he has a great face, though.

Aside from the yellow teeth (which both my wife and I have noticed), Mansu is really very nice to everyone ... perhaps a bit too nice to Sua, though! He's very down-to-earth in spite of his status as head of Bonjour, welcomed Baekho with open arms, and seems genuinely interested in his employees. He tries to respect and please his mother, but I admired how he told her to back off from commanding Dongji to do the housework when she was ill.

I don't think I have a favourite as yet but I am rooting for Sonya! She's so sweet, loving and kind. She is always telling Chan's father to save money while Mi-ae is always hounding him to spend money! She's so good to Chan and the 3 of them look so good together!

Sorry for two postings but was catching up on posts while I was away. This was explained right at the start of the show before Mi-ae came on the scene. Chan's father told Baekho that his business failed. Mi-ae said she could not live a life of poverty. She asked him to sell their house, took all the money and left! He didn't know where she went to. Don't know why it never occured to him to look for her at her siblings home! Mi-ae wanted to use the money from her sister's land to pay a talent agency to get acting assignments for her. Chan's father (I can never remember his name!) scolded her a few times for being so greedy but only Baekho knows that he gave Mi-ae money. Mi-ae told her family that she didn't take a single cent from him! Su-ah and her are cut from the same cloth. Its a wonder they are not twins!

Yes Kfan, I am . Hmm, but I think Baekho could be my favorite now that he's settling down and he cares so much for others. I like how playful he is at times.

My favourite is Baekho and Sonya is a close second.
Baekho, even early on,seemed a good guy to me....for example,he covered for his uncle as best he could when he went to jail, looking after Chan...he did his best to keep quiet about his uncle's financial mishaps,etc....and now he is trying to be nice to his new family members despite them being,so often, thoughtless towards him.Even when alot of people would be too proud to admit they were dumped by their girlfriend,he was straight up honest about it when his female colleague tactlessly asked him what happened.Though he knows he likes Danpung,he is trying his best to get her out of his mind rather than undermine her relationship with his old schoolmate!
Sonya is hardworking, kind, considerate and sincere...what else needs to be said about her!
Miae and Jongsun ,on the other hand, just keep lying to get themselves out of all the bad things they do and are just so shallow.

This is ashame but after careful thought about who i like on this likable or not drama. i realized that i like and hate ALL of the characters even down to the Chan. Its part of each of the characters in this drama that i like and dislike which is perfect for the title of the drama. Even the nice characters are annoying like Danpaung being a great workaholic and dating hyeonu even though she just feels like she can take him or leave him. Sonya if she smiles that smile every time she talks ok i love an optimist but my goodness just once say man that rough... not smile and cheer. Poor Mansu hating that he can't help his wife more because if he does she's going to get it from MIL worse during the other 14 hrs he's not home. Seonjae follows his head and not his heart. Sua follows her pride from having something she couldn't have because thats never happened to her before. Dalhea which is jiyeong's aunt annoys me with all the hitting people to quiet them down and worrying herself looks like into an early grave.... why does she always look so nervous she is from the country they don't back down to anyone. And everyone knows why not to like the dislikable people on the show which makes the drama a drama so thats why i like them and hate them but those likeable characters oh boy have they got under my epidermis
