How about Miae telling Sonya " I will find you a new job, so quit". What a joke!!! Why doesn't she find herself a job? Tell me about it.. her ex works and takes care of chan, she just sits at home all day doing nothing but cause trouble!! she is going to cause her family more pain! that family has already gone through a lot!

I am just curious about this.....Sonia is in South Korea to make money to send to her family. How much better could the economy in South Korea be to the Russian economy? I mean you really think of people going West for better opportunites -- like Western Europe or the US...

That's a good question, Dorrie. Things are bad all over; even here.
Sonya is supposed to be from Kazhakstan (sp?) which used to be part of the old Soviet Union. They're struggling to make it as a country on their own which has to be hard. Korea, altho still struggling with the North, might be a little more settled.
You think?

door60, it may be similar to the drama "Pure in Heart". Gukhwa was a Korean who had been living in Yanbian, China. She originally came to Seoul to get married but the man she was going to marry died before she got there. She found out when she arrived and decided to stay and make money to send to her relatives back in Yanbian. There always was work to be found even if it was menial labor. Like Sonya, she was a hard worker and happy for the opportunity to earn money.

Poor Sonya. I can see she's on the way out now. So now we're being told that, contrary to appearances, she and Dalhyeon don't just have a natural affinity for each other and like each other so they're dating--no, it's gotta be that she was just lonely, so she can be gotten out of the picture and Chan can live with his mommy and daddy together again. Oh no, Lucy! Do you really think the writers will send Sonya back and reunite Dalhyeon and Miae? Double PU!!

Yes, I don't have any knowledge of what will happen, of course, but I think that K-dramas always try to reunite divorced couples. And now that Dallae had that talk with her last night, and we learned that it's really expensive for her to go to Russia to renew her visa, I can see that Sonya will probably have no choice but to go back. On the other hand, she could also marry Dalhyeon and get her "green card." I hope they go that way. Two nice people should get together, rather than crummy old Miae getting him back.

Oh no Lucy!!! I hope your second theory is the right one. Sonya deserves to be happy. Ditto!! This scenario gets my vote, too!! Fooey on Miae. I like how Sonya hasn't caved when Miae tries to bully her into staying away from Dalyeon (?)/Chan's dad. ;D

I'm all for keeping families together, but Miae didn't want to work on her marriage. Acting is more important. She is Chan's mother, but some people shouldn't be parents. Sonya is like a lamb compared to Miae, but I'm proud of her for not letting Miae control her.

Another great thing about Sonya, she withstood all the pressure GRACEFULLY.She always seems polite and respectful.I cannot even recall her ever shouting/yelling like most of the other cast.

And without the pitiful looks Dongji and Jiyeong would have given. Their temperaments are about the same but with a slight difference! I admire the way Sonya holds up her head. That makes her more likeable than the other two. To me, at least

What kind of job is Sonya doing now? She's working at night and had a lot of make-up on. Is it some kind of club/bar? I feel sorry for her.
