I really love reading this spoiler thread for this show! Here in the NYC area, we are only around episode 50 and sometimes I get impatient waiting to find out what's going to happen. I can't believe that Seonjae is actually going to go through with this wedding! Friday's episode was where Jiyeong's father met with Seonjae and said to him "I was wrong about you."
and Danpung needs to lose that clingy boyfriend! Friday's episode, he called one of her co-workers while they were all out at a Karaoke and then he shows up!
I am really liking this drama better than High as the Sky, Wide as the Earth, although I liked that one too, but not as much as this one.
i know, i live in nyc as well, but i've been watching the new episodes with chinese subtitles--they're being uploaded a day after they've been aired, which is really nice.
by episode 92, sua continuously visits her grandmother's which is really beginning to bother jongsun. her husband has been surprisingly lenient towards sua, mostly because he only really yells at his wife...he does try to make her do more for the house (especially since she doesn't have a job), but sua develops this pleading look of helplessness when sua visits, she goes straight to her grandmother and complains about how seonjae has too much work and can't be with her, or how her father and mother in law want her to work like a maid.
as for how she treats dongji, nothing changes. i saw in a preview on the kbs site that the anniversary of her mother's death is coming up, and traditionally, dongji must do the ritual because she is the second wife. chan accidentally pushes the picture of sua's mother off the table, breaking the frame. sua finds it and starts to scream her head off at dongji, which alerts her grandmother to come in. lord, i hate how they both still hate the poor woman.
the thing that really pisses me off about the pace of the episodes is how the writers are treating the relationship between baekho and danpung. even by ep 92, the only thing that has changed is that danpung is more honest about her feelings toward marriage and hyeonu is starting to show his impatience and jealousy over baekho. they quibble more, and i have a feeling they'll be breaking up really soon. that, however, doesn't mean she will fall for baekho as easily. especially not with him being a colleague that is also related by marriage.
It's truly disappointing that Dongji is still treated with much hate by her MIL and DIL.I cant say it's too far-fetched to believe coz I know of one couple who is suffering the same fate now and they've been married more than 10 years.Let me guess,Mansu is oblivious to all this as usual.I'm upset that the Danpung/Baekho situation is more or less the same.Do you think them going out will spell the end of this drama?I now understand why you are upset with the writers' pace and possible rushed finish!!Yuk,a K-drama special...a poor ending!Hope not!
Thanks for the update, aeshenfork. I haven't gone up to Ep. 92 yet. But what I've seen so far - ep 60+ is Danpung starting to look at Baekho differently. Baekho keeps reminding himself that she is Hyeonu's g.f. I honestly don't know why Danpung is dragging on the relationship with Hyeonu!
I am surprised that Su-ah is unemployed. I thought before she snagged Seonjae, she had a partnership at some art gallery? It was where she first learnt that Seonjae was not the ignorant bumpkin she thought he was. In that way, I thought Su-ah suited him better than Jiyeong. Jiyeong and him didn't seem to have much common interests or anything to talk about. Su-ah at least understands finance and art appreciation. But its good that she's at home and getting on Jongsun's nerves. I like that a lot
From what I've seen so far, Baekho continues to look out for Jiyeong. In fact, when his g.f. dumped him, he turned to her for comfort. Dongji was unhappy that he spends time with Jiyeong but I like that Baekho told her not to be so mean spirited towards Jiyeong just because Su-ah is her step-daughter!
BTW, the series has 200 episodes, not 100. So hang in there!
I was wondering how many episodes there are, no I know (200), thanks!
I'm really hoping that Grandma, Sua, Seonjae & mom, either see the error of their ways or they really get what's coming to them! Although I notice that Grandma has the capacity to be kind when it comes to Chan.
Sorry, my bad. Was just on msn with my cousin in Korea. She said I should brush up on the language so I would not mistake 200 for 100! The series has 100 episodes and is slated to end this month in Seoul. However, sometimes they say a number and then they just add more episodes. Like the DJY show. Speaking of which, both DJY and this show made it to the Top 10 dramas in Korea. Likeable or Not beat DJY by slightly over 2%

"I am surprised that Su-ah is unemployed. I thought before she snagged Seonjae, she had a partnership at some art gallery?"
Not exactly. Way earlier on, like when Sua came back from Paris, her friend was in charge of the gallery and she asked if sua wanted to officially run the gallery with her. Sua shrugged and said maybe. Let's face it, the girl doesn't want to be in charge of anything that requires actual work. I'm sure she visits every once in a while, but it's not like you see her do anything but get paintings and give them away haha. Oh yeah, it was pretty apparent that Seonjae and Jiyeong were slowly distancing, and he kept telling her that he's changed, etc. I'm kinda glad he's such an ass because he doesn't deserve someone like her. If only she would finally get him out of her head -___-U
Heh, I kind of want Sua to end up pregnant. Extra hormones + iron-clad obligation to let Seonjae lose his sanity in his marriage = HAHA KARMA. The only thing is, there was that fortune teller around ep 62 that predicted a break-up between Sua and Seonjae (really upsetted Jongsun lol). If they do, I just don't want him to end up with Jiyeong.
OK can you all back it up a bit..... Is jiyeong sick from the stress, or illness because i know she is not pregnant i watched the short version of ep. 47 where she goes to jongsun house to give back the money she gave jiyeong to leave her son alone. How will the mother handle what she is thinking since jiyeong just asked her for 10million dollars since she is selling her son.
Jiyeong was ill. According to the doctor, it was from stress. I guess heartache is not medically accepted? But my translation of Jiyeong's conversation with Jongsun was that in reply to Jongsun asking her how much money would be enough to comfort her, Jiyeong replied that even $10m would not be sufficient. She said SHE would never sell Seonjae, unlike Jongsun! My grasp of the language is weak so I could well be wrong!
Thanks for answering my questions and yes you are correct in your translation of Jiyeong and Jongsun conversation i just put it into my short version jest But do you remember how the mother responded to seeing Jiyeong almost throw up???

I must say that I'm really getting annoyed with Jiyeong! Last night's episode (ep 51, I think) she is still calling Seonjae! "I miss you, I want to see you again", she tells him. She is looking pathetic. Last night's ep was also where Miae gave Sua a good "whuppin"! She deserved it but I'm sure Miae's actions will backfire somehow. Sometimes I get impatient with the pace of the show. I'm so glad for this spoiler thread!
Three cheers for Jiyeong! it was almost well worth the wait! The jerk had the gall to tell her not to see Baekho so that they would not meet each other accidentally. She tells him off and he is stunned! He looked like he was going to cry. Crocodile tears?
His father told Mansu that Seonjae will not be moving to the Bong residence. Danpung, the sweetie-pie, gives her Dad the thumbs-up. This after Jongsun tells her to take her and Seonjae's side on this Seonjae is not pleased. He replies that he is paying a price for marrying Su-ah. His Dad again questions his motive for the marriage. Seonjae tells Danpung he is confident he will come to love Su-ah! Danpung tells him she is disappointed in him. I guess that is why the Dad isn't too hard on Su-ah after the wedding (according to the spoilers posted earlier). I think he feels sorry for her.
Su-ah and Seonjae quarrels while out on a date. She returns home in a foul mood and takes it out on Dongji. Surprise, surprise, Grandmama corrects her! She tells her Grandma off and Grandma replies that if she is not happy with Seonjae, she has no right to take it out on them. I almost fainted from shock!
Oh, at last Danpung reveals why she is seeing Mr Super Glue. She told Jongsun that she is open to the idea of being Mrs Super Glue sometime in the future, if things take a turn in that direction. But for now, they are only friends. But I wish Danpung would set him straight. He's given her lots of clues that he thinks they are already an item. Each time, she would look uncomfortable and changes the topic. And as for hanging out with friends, an intelligent, sweet, attractive girl like her can surely do better than that possessive man. How can she even breath in his presence is beyond me!
Oh and the new love interest for Jiyeong puts in a brief appearance. Wow, he's cute! I take back what I said several posts earlier! I saw him in some other show and he didn't look as good as he does in this show. He's now officially a hottie!
