I can only hope that Seonjae will get what he truly deserves for doing that. It's bad enough for him to brush her off after being engaged (and after she gave him such a nice gift), and extremely mean to just leave her out there He has no manners and no compassion whatsoever.
If you want to make yourself feel better, do something nice for someone else.
Last Friday in PA we saw Seonjae ditch Jiyong and get drunk. When he goes home he's clearly upset and everyone is concerned except his mom who screams at him. In the morning he confesses the break up and again, everyone empathizes except old mom who actually smiles! I find myself truly despising his mother as one of the most hateful K-drama characters I've ever encoutered. They usually rehabilitate the baddies in the end or at least make them see the error of their ways. But I don't want this happening to Mommie Dearest. I want her to pay! I hope her son turns against her, and Grandma and Sua laugh in her face. Maybe her hubby will lock her in the closet and she'll have to live on nothing but glasses of honey water from Danpung. The actress playing her must be good to get me so riled.
I was definately steamed also, but maybe not as much as puppy, last Friday when Seonjae ditched Jiyeoung. I can't wait until tonite. I hope Seonjae sees Sua's true colors, and regrets dumping Jiyeoung. I also hope Jiyeoung opens up a Vet place in Seoul where she gets paid lots and lots of money for her work, and Seonjae's mother gets on her ahands and knees and begs for forgiveness!!! How's that ??
Its not just Seonjae who would be disapointed when he sees Sua's true colours, she too would be disappointed in him. She has stars in her eyes thinking that he truly loves her.
Seonjae's mother visits the Bong household. MIL suggests that Seonjae work at Bonjour after the marriage to be groomed to take over the business. Jongsun does her usual irritating giggling thing! MIL also suggests that Seonjae move into the Bong household!
Jongsun tells Dongji that she should get her brother and Baekho out of the house. Dongji tells her that they are not her concern! Dongji also tells her that she feels they are rushing the marriage.
When Baekho returns home, the family is sitting at the living room. Dad tells him that they are meeting Seonjae's family and he wants Baekho to be there too. Su-ah immediately tells Baekho that he better not be there and storms up the stairs. Dongji immediatly says that if Baekho is not free, he need not be there. Before Baekho can reply, Dad tells her that her friend knows they are married, her friend knows that Baekho is her son and Dad is not ashamed of Baekho. Baekkho says he will make himself available. Dongji looks at the floor and MIL scrowls.
Su-ah is waiting for Baekho upstairs. She asks him what right he has to fight with Seonjae and starts hitting him. Baekho tells her that for her own good she ought to reconsider marrying Seonjae and that if she ever hits him again, he will make her sorry. Su-ah is shocked that Baekho talked back to her and storms into her room! Seonjae's Dad invites him for a drink and tells him it is not too late to change his mind about marrying Su-ah. He tells him that marriage between 2 people who love each other is hard enough but its impossible when the man enters marriage holding another woman in his heart. Seonjae tells his Dad that he likes Su-ah. His Dad tells him that he need not be impressed by Su-ah's wealth, that Seonjae is an intelligent man who can achieve even more than the Dad achieved. Seonjae replies that his Dad's values of hardwork, integrity, preservance etc are old-fashioned. He wants power and wealth and Su-ah is able to give that to him instantly.
After another crying bout, Jiyeong tells her aunts that she is going to see Seonjae. This time from the look on her face, I think she is going to blast him to pieces! While she is on her way, her father is meeting Seonjae. He asks Seonjae to reconsider his decision. Seonjae starts to walk away and Jiyeong's Dad goes on his knees and begs him to return to Jiyeong. At that moment, Jiyeong walks in!
Thanks Sheila. Why can't they leave Seonjae alone now? He's made it clear he doesn't want Jiyeong again. If I got dumped like that I wouldn't want anything to do with the person ever again unless my family wanted to give him a good beat down or something.
OK i can't wait for everyone to see the Slap heard across the world..... And the mother saying that her son is not going to take responsibility (if you all did what i think you did last night) WHAT!!!! i was shocked
I caught up reading the post and i want to respond to some of them but then i realized that i've spoiled myself by looking ahead. I want to say see everyone if Dongji wasn't a doormat her life wouldn't be any better she wants her husband to come home to a nice peaceful home with all his family. No one has seen yet that MIL fired the maid and has Dongji doing all the work because the husband tried to put Dongji in charge of the finances. If she rebelled as everyone wants her too what will happen the house will be dirty, dinner wouldn't be done and hell would be running rampant in that house because Sua has never picked up a broom, mop, washed a dish or her dirty underwear. And old MIL is not going to do it she would have an attack. So all the talk about Dongji talking about means nothing in the end because no matter what the work still has to get done and it takes a stronger person to keep your mouth shut and wait then to say what you want and deal with worse consequences then already given.
I was intrigued by your post, sunshinek so I got caught up with the show! Dongji didn't do all the housework as her brother and son chipped in to help her. I don't think her husband would find it a nice, peaceful home when his wife goes from woman to doormat!
In one scene, she says she needs to have a private work witih Seonjae to explain the family dynamics. She knows MIl and brat would not like it. Her husband tells her it is not necessary but she went ahead with it. Its a matter of what she really wants and not being a matryr to make her husband happy! She asks Seonjae if he thinks less of her because of the family dynamics. Assured he does not, she asks him to promise that he would treat her with respect. c'mon on Dongji!!
This is just pure speculation on my part. But I'm wondering if Dongji will later get trouble for keeping quiet. MIL has got her facts wrong on certain issues. Dongji gives a startled look but doesn't say anything. And I think it is her son who will gain acceptance in the family before her. He continues to show respect to MIL, quarrels with brat but sincerely tries to help her too. In other words, he is really acting like a family member. Just speculating!
Kfan you are right.... The video that i've watched have a lot of cut scenes and when i watched the one i taped for today it does say that the son and brother smelled a consiparacy so they decided to chip in with the housework.
Well as far as the show goes yes Baeko is going to show how to bring a family together but i like the dymanic in the fact that the world is a small place that even though his helping is own family member Sua his hurting his ex cousin in law jiyeong. But the whole show is suppose to show the contrast between Seonjae fall and Baeko rise and growth. We shall see.....
I've read posts above that suggest Dongji should stand up for herself more against MIL and Sua.I think there seems to be something she is hiding from the family......clues like her husband and baekho do childish but loveable things......so are the writers hinting they are father and son?.. i think they are and that's the beauty of it all......two of the cast members who seem to embrace everyone as their family rather than dwell on the negative stuff they also try to avoid hurting others feelings!!!Baekho has even said positive things about Sua like she's cute...wow..he's a bigger man than me!It's so annoying that MIL is so full of compliments for Seonjae whereas she treats Baekho with so much contempt/suspicion.She only has plans for Seonjae to take over the company...and the latter's Mom has even said out loud in one episode that she shall not be envious of Dongji coz one day ALL will be her son's!!!!I cant wait for the time when Danpung and Baekho end up with each other and it turns out he is the male heir to the throne!Ha!Ha!Especially coz Sua's so high-n-mighty about being the daughter of the president of Bonjour whilst Baekho is a nobody!!Plus Danpung seems to have liked Jiyeong and was put off with Sua at the carpark!!What do you guys think?

That thought did occur to me but I hope its not true. I can't think of a good reason for Dongji to continue keeping it a secret from her husband. Before they were married, yes. But once she agreed to marry him, she should have informed him BEFORE the marriage. If I were in his shoes, I would wonder at the level of trust if she keeps such this a secret for so long, especially this long in the marriage. So gee, I hope Baekho is not Mansur's son.
Danpung and Baekho have urgent work to complete and miss the meeting of the two families so they do not know they are going to be related soon! Jongsun goes to a fortune teller who informs her that Seonjae and Su-ah will break-up. He says the other pair of siblings make a better couple! But we knew that all along, didn't we
Su-ah takes Seonjae on a shopping spree as she wants to make sure he looks good when he meets her friends. Her friends are every bit as rude and snooty as she and completely ignore Seonjae. One of them calls him "Mr Cinderella" and the brat throws a glass of water in his face.
Baekho visits Jiyeong and is happy to see that she is back on her feet. She has thrown away every thing that Seonjae has given her and is moving on with her life. I'm glad Baekho visited Jiyeong.
