Dhuh! Got that wrong. The writers side-stepped the 'issue.'

EPISODE#85 Yeah, jojo. They're going to leave us in suspense for awhile. Were you as surprised as I was as to how wimpy the Khitan soldiers inside the fort were acting? If Chulin can't get them stirred up, then it's hopeless. I think she will though. I wonder when Li Kaigu and his men will show up. LK is going to have a bird when he finds out he has to join forces with DJY. That should be a major sneer. I wonder if he can overcome his hatred and do what needs to be done? I hope Shin Hong doesn't start whispering in his ear. SH is such a snake!!! On another subject from a previous eppie. It looks like Heuk Sudol has some stiff competition in the eating department with Gapil and his sidekick.

EPISODE# 85
Another thing, what was with Biwu not trusting Mimosa? They've done this a few other times. All of a sudden someone doesn't trust a "brother" when they've been loyal and there is no reason to doubt them. Very paranoid for sure.

Ep 86 I thought the same thing about Biwu's attitude towards Mimosa. I don't understang why Biwu would be antagonistic towards him, especially over Mim's tactics, which they've been successfully following for years. We didn't get to see Biwu's motivation, ie, is there some other issue?? Another thing I didn't get was how the Tang ministers knew that DJY & co had been building up their strength at Mt. Dongmo and Mt Baekdu. The Empress sure is spending a lot of time painting lately, a sign of cracking up? I also agree on Li Kaigu having a bird when arriving a Yingzhou, but I didn't get to see it. My blasted bastard VCR didn't get the last 5 minutes or so.

I didn't notice the Empress painting, it must have gone right over my head.

EPISODE# 87 Welcome sampaguita ! If that's the case, the Turkish women need glasses!!! I wonder if Biwu is interested in Geumlan or just impressed with her skills? Hmm, we shall see.

Thanks tinkerbell. I'm getting better, little by little. re: Ep 87 The dinner with Biwu, Sudol, Guemlan, Gaepil & Tungso was such fun!! “Watch your tongue or you’ll never please a woman again.” Liked the rumble also. Geumlan looked a little surprised that she couldn’t take him down immediately. Look out Auhong: Sudol is feeling frustrated!!! What about Dae Jo Young and Geom, and Li Kaigu and Geom? Geom has gained great admiration for DJY, not only for saving the Khitans, but also for not being angry at the unfufilled promise to free the refugees. On the other hand, LK seems to have slipped a notch in his relationship with Geom. Their meeting got a little heated. Seems to me that Geom was disappointed in LK not honoring Geom’s promise to DJY, ie, LK is demonstrating a lack of integrity. ( he's been listening to Shin Hong for too long)Nasty nasty Shin Hong, tsk, tsk, tsk. Taking matters into his own hands again. Good thing Xue Rengui’s sixth sense kicked in!

Ep 88 The feather duster is back! And a gold top hat too. I’m wondering if Xue Rengui has chosen the right path. (though he may not have had much choice) Has pride or ego gotten ahold of him, to go after his ‘last roar’? (and throw in a little revenge against the Khitans and Dae Jungsang) This could be the big showdown between XR, Li Wen, Li Kaigu, Dae Jo Young and Dae Jungsang, and also between Mimosa and Shin Hong. It’s quite a mixed bag: besides the two warring factions, those within the factions don’t like each other either. Lots of other good scenes in this episode.

Good scene! Especially since Xue has on a red cape. I love how all the Tang generals are confused and frustrated over the disappearance of DJY's army. Sounds like Li Kaigu isn't going to let anymore Goguryan refugees go, no matter what the Khan has promised. What about Shin Hong's comment, after telling DJY that they will guard the gates: "Don't worry. You will have your chance to fight in due time." Sounds like a veiled threat to me; that DJY will be next, after the battle with Tang. The only one protecting DJY right now is the Khan. I wonder if LK would go so far as to usurp the throne? LK's vision is so bent on the welfare of the Khitan state that I can see him justifying that.

EPISODE# 87 & 88 Episode #87 was like a comedy fest. I'm actually surprised Geumlan didn't take down Gaepil right away. His character seems to have changed. In the beginning he acted tough and fearless (Wolf of Madu), but now he seems more like a comedian and a buffoon. I hope when they get into battle it will be different . Although it's surprising, I guess Xue Rengui figures he has to go against former allies and friends so he can let out "his last roar". He wants to go down in history as a great warrior at the end of his life. He still could have done that on the side of the Khitans, but I've always said there is something strange between him and Empress Wu. Right now I think Goem has center stage. He seems the strongest character on the show right now. He has a commanding presence and even his eyes exude his strong character. He seems to be a man of conviction and stands by his word. I never liked Li Kaigu and he just keeps re-enforcing my thoughts of him. I believe he will eventually go against the Khan and it wouldn't surprise me if he (with Shin Hong's help and prodding) usurps him. I'm sure it was meant as a threat too. LK and SH are still driven to kill DJY and DJS. I just love every time Mimosa is sarcastic ( with a smile on his face) 8-)towards Shin Hong. He ruffles his feathers, outwits him and definitely gets under his skin.
