Li Wen has got to be both the most reprehensible and the most uninteresting bad guy on this show. General Xue(despite his cruel and sometimes dishonorable behavior) has charisma in spades, Namseng has evolved into a complex and not entirely unsympathetic character, and even Bu Ki Won and Sa Bu Gu at least believed at one point that they were working for the good of the state...but Li Wen is just reprehensible, period, with no redeeming qualities.
I hope the storyline involving him will come to end soon-I'd like to see him meet his end at the hands of General Xue-that would be the most fitting ending for him!

I moved Nalbal's post to the spoiler thread. People don't like to be ambushed by spoilers, so let's keep them out of other threads, please.

It appears that Li Wen has made enemies of virtually all of the major players on all sides of the conflict. He treated Li Kaigu like he is his personal servant. He has insulted Chulin too many times to count. I think that his throwing the Khan in jail was his swan song. As others have said elsewhere, he is a thoroughly reprehensible character with no redeeming qualities whatsoever. He is beneath contempt and needs to be eliminated by someone...anyone asap! Does anyone want to lay odds that he doesn't suvive the coming Han Fort battle?

I bet he will survive. He's a pretty formidable guy even if he's got a lot of enemies.

Maybe he will make it through the battle, but the way he underestimates his opponents I'm not so sure.

I love how the Goguryeans are poking at his ego and irritating him to goad him into fighting. Any IYSS fans remember Wakizaka getting played the same way?
And their trash-talking before the fighting started may be the funniest thing in the whole series so far. Just loved it. Great stuff.

Me too AJ, I was LOL, and ready to see Li Wen get his. Naturally he summoned his men to attack and save his sorry butt after being kicked on it by DJ, who I hope was just toying with him.
I love all the trash talk! It would be great to see Li Kaigu, Xue, Li Wen and DJY all lined up and having a "peeing" contest. Heck, why not add Chulin? She's got quite the mouth on her too. ;D

Well, if you're putting the fantasy roster together don't forget about Heuk Sedol. Maybe not the cleverest, but the most enthusiastic. And the guy who might beat them all would be Go Sagae, the general. Remember after Ansi was vacated and Tang captured him fighting the rearguard to protect the people? He stood right in front of them and laughed in their faces and mocked them. That guy has some serious cojones. Sure hope we see him again.

Now Li Wen has to serve guard duty to earn his keep!!! And the hilarious thing was that he was planning his revenge while guarding. Who's going to carry out the revenge? Everybody's dead! And his new boss is Xue! ;D How sweet it is! ;D

Individually I would agree, but I think each would defer to DJ as the leader for their contingent. After last night's ep I wanted to add Kim Chan. His egostical condescending speech to DJ was classic bravado… too bad it was his last.

The thing about Li Wen is that he never seems to learn from his mistakes. When something goes wrong, he immediately has someone to blame. He is never at fault, he never takes responsibility for anything. It was wonderfully refreshing to see him scowling while he's wearing a common guard's uniform, gritting his teeth humiliation! ;D
I noticed I'm not the only one who's been thinking about Go Sagae. I know he got captured, but we haven't seen him since--what happened to him?

So according to history he never went back to Gorguryeo? Interesting...
