That's what I'm thinking. And in 1986, she still looks like she does now. With smoother skin and black hair.

Yeah, I was suspicious of that one too. I checked the credits for that movie, and she is listed as "Special Appearance", so it is likely that she is not in the series of pics for this film. Here is another from the same year, from a film titled "죽어도 좋은 경험", which the Google translator yields as "Dies and the experience": Most of these pics I found on the Naver movie database, which looks like a good information site about Korean actors and actresses, if you can read Korean.

Wow, Soju, how ever did you find it? I'd like to know what Lee Seo Jin (Lee Suh Jin) has been up to, but how to find out? Where's the index? Well, it doesn't matter because I don't have Korean type on my computer. (Even if I knew the characters for his name.) There are entries for a Nicholas Cage movie and the new Robin Williams movie where he's the president.

If you have Korean installed on your computer (and have learned how to input Hangul), you can type the name of an actor or drama into Google or Yahoo! in Hangul, and they will search just as if you had searched for something in English. I usually start at KBS's site, to make sure I get the Korean spelling right (I don't want to be like Dae-ja's mom ;D), but sometimes KBS will use a "Handwriting Font", which I find impossible to read at small sizes Sometimes you can follow links from on actor to another on these movie sites, but if you (like me) can't read Korean, navigating these sites is pretty much a lost cause

Thanks, Soju. I have 3 choices that come down when I go to "Window", but I'll have to ask DH which applies, if any. Maybe MacOS, since this is a Mac. But I'm not clicking on anything unless I know what it is first. I'm so happy when this computer works, I don't want to mess it up. (It crashes enough on its own.) (Or maybe it's something we're doing Maybe if we have too many windows open?)

YES YES. Deep smoker's voice. Its so annoying. Mom was telling me that she did play a poor grandma in some drama. I forgot the name of it I never have seen the actress that plays Yunhu's sister. She is pretty though, but her attitude is rude. She treats Gukhwa really bad and doesnt call her Gukhwa but "farm girl." I'm up to Episode 63 tonight. Anna

specially when Gramps is old enough to be HER father.
Something I didn't notice before… Sungu the brother that died was 36 years old and Gukwa is only 19. That means he was *almost* old enough to be her father. Must run in the family, although no one made any mention of that age difference that I can recall.
How 'bout that canned laughter from Yun hoo haa haa…?

oh la la! she looks pretty saucy in that one picture, Insect Woman...Who knew she had it in her?! My first memories of her was as the sister-in-law to the main character, Yeon-ho's (Chae Rim) mother on On the Green Prairie. They stayed in the same complex, but because she was the sister-in-law, she wasn't well-off, like the main character's family. She was worried that her daughter was liking the poor family, Tea-won's, younger bad-boy brother, I think?
Ooooooooooooooooooooh and i'm glad to see that I am not the only one SEETHING over Okgeum and her treatment of Gukhwa! She's being a total b**h! Fine, fatherinlaw treats u like dirt! And fine, your rival is inching her weasly way into your family! Be jealous and get over it! But the way she's treating Gukhwa - just because her dopey son has fallen for her innocently enough - does not justify her to get on her high horse and treat Gukhwa like that. She was, after all, the governor's MAID! The way she's treating Gukhwa is not much different from how the fatherinlaw treats her (Okguem). I thought I was irritated with how Yunhu's mother was pimping off his sister to Jaeso...Okgeum's behavior puts Yunhu's mother's ignorance to shame!
All i have to say, is that the writers must be doing something good, because i haven't been this irritated with characters in a long time!

Oh yea I cant stand Okgeum at all. So what if her son loves Gukhwa. She cant control his emotions. She's a mega b*****. But Yunhu's mom and Yunhu's sister tops the b**** list in my opinion. I cant stand Yunhu's sister. She's an immature brat and the way she cries in front of Ugyenong. But the lady who played Jaeso's girlfriend is one ugly lady. EWW! Shinyeong to me is the nicest of all of them on the show. She doesnt act like a b**** at all.

I can totally understand how Okgeum feels about her son's infatuation with Gukhwa, although I do not agree with it. Gukhwa, is after all poor with no family, that was fine for Sungu because he was a cripple, but Okgeum, I'm sure is hoping for a better match for her only son. He seems to be the first college graduate in the family, and a marriage to a girl who is educated from a good family would be a good match. Okgeum doesn't dislike Gukhwa, she's just afraid that they may fall in love and get married.

Jiminy, that's the first one I saw her in, too (Green Prairie). I think you might have the details confused a bit, but it doesn't really matter. The way I remember it, the poor family was not related to the rich family, but they were all from the same hometown and (spoiler) it turned out the rich grandfather had robbed the poor grandfather when their positions were reversed. I can't remember exactly how it happened, but I think the *formerly* rich grandfather got run down in a hit-and-run, and the *formerly* poor grandfather left him lying in the gutter to die and stole a huge wad of money he'd been carrying. Or I might have that conflated with another drama in which a similar secret was revealed. Yonho's mom was the first Mean Drama Mom I'd encountered, and I remember her screaming at Yonho and hitting her, and then beating the man she loved, Tae-woong (the son of our Insect Woman ). In that drama, Tae-woong's mom's husband was played by the same man who's her husband here. By the way, since I'm running on and on in this undisciplined fashion, let me throw in here that I think his hairstyle in this drama is the best I've seen. He doesn't have as much of a helmet-head as he usually sports.

Anyway, SH was Okgeum's brother-in-law, so she wasn't in charge of him, but her son....that's another story.

I cant stand Yunhu's sister. She's an immature brat and the way she cries in front of Ugyenong. Point taken about OG. She's just forcing that Park guy on Gukhwa, which is humiliating to GH, mainly because she doesn't defend herself in any way. Even today, she goes around making GH feel like she has to lie just to avoid confrontation. It irks me how bent she is in keeping these two "apart". I don't think YJeong is exactly putting on an act when she cries in front of UY. She seriously liked this guy and was rejected by him and her husband as well. She's got every right to cry, vent, get drunk ( ), whatever she wants to do. She's immature, but since her actions are those of a child, they're also driven by her pure lack of inhibitions. Other than that, she's a really nice person. So far, she hasn't tortured anybody, hurt anybody, or done anything so evidently to make me call the the big B.

Because I don't recall this being a topic or passing comment in any of the ones I have seen thus far. Every mother has the right to want better things for their child, even life partners, but as Mrs. Park seems to be realizing, you can be happy just the same. If Mrs. Park can come to that realization after 10 years of separation from her oldest child, what's wrong with OG? In any case, UY does need to get away from that house. They're imposing on him too much.

They did say something in passing about him having a bad foot, I think during his funeral. They also said something about him having caused pain to so many people in his life. I don't recall either of these topics having been brought up again on the show.
