A couple of episodes ago they sort of explained the name, but it went by really fast. I think they said the name was from an old popular song. Remember when Grandpa's employee was singing with Eomji in the diner?

Mr. Koh's with Eomji in the diner / Mr. Koh's with Eomji, I know-oh-oh-oh / Strummin' on the ol' banjo

Ohhh THAT'S where it comes from. But really soapy, lol! She does. I feel so bad for Gramps. Even though I'm not really a fan of his, he IS being used and Hye-suk of all people shouldn't do that to someone when it's happened to HER. I don't know, I'm kind of siding with Ok-geum because Hye-suk is being a bratty little three year old in this revenge scheme of hers.

Absolutely, BAE, but when will Grandpa ever see thru her? Is it me, or did she seem less than pleased to be back in contact with Pungu? Was it just embarrassment that she had masqueraded as a rich woman? And how did she end up with a hangover? I don't even remember seeing them drinking.

Hey, BAE, about your new avatar--is that from a promo for his upcoming tour? Have the US locations been set yet? I would make quite an aged teenybopper, but if he comes to Chicago, I will seriously consider going. Do you know if he will? Bi is definitely coming to America, I know.

Was it just embarrassment that she had masqueraded as a rich woman? And how did she end up with a hangover? I don't even remember seeing them drinking. She definitely didn't seem too happy today. She was flashing him this fake smile and looked rather uncomfortable around him. I don't think she wants to get in a relationship with anyone just yet. But I hope Gramps will see this soon, because the more I see him fawning over her, the more I feel he will be hurt. Hey, BAE, about your new avatar--is that from a promo for his upcoming tour? Why does the Poor Guy-Uyueong- always touch his nose when he's thinking?

LOL, Christi! Yes, I had posted elsewhere that I think Ugyeong is adorable, but we have to get him to stop picking his nose!
He's not actually picking his nose of course, he gives the tip of his nose a little rub with his thumb when he's trying to come up with a response to an uncomfortable question/statement. I think the director should have told the Lee Min Woo to ditch that affectation -- it's awkward looking.

Teresa- I thought I was the only who noticed that! In the first few episodes, he squeezed his bottom lips, then it progressed to the touching the tip of his nose.
I have to agree with the mean boss, Gawha is a bit "simple minded." I know her character will eventually grow as we get further along the show. I did, however, found her innocent point-of-view cute and refreshing; however, at this moment of the show, I find it a bit annoying.
And the grandfather, wow! I have never seen such a father-in-law that mean to his daughter-in-law in any of these KDrama. Even thought the grandmother in BB could be over the top at times, as far as mistreating daughter-in-law, the grandfather in this show winds the prize.

I sheepishly admit, I may have noticed Ugyeong's idiosynchrocies because I'm kinda' sweet on him!
Concerning Gukhwa's air headedness, it's pretty remarkable. I think the creators do this so we see an appreciable change in the character, but whew! If she was an HONORS student, I have to wonder about the accredidation of Helong High School!! She's not coming off very brainy to me (unless, by honor student, they only mean she held the door open for others, not academically).
It seems our Gramps has gotten blinded by love, but I suspect this business of him bossing Okgeom about will come back to haunt him in the form of getting bitten by Ms. Choi. He may have to eat some crow where Okgeom is concerned. One of the best episodes (I think it was #16), was a serious one where they have a family conference concerning taking in Gukhwa as a member of the family. Did you, or anyone else notice, it was subtle, the respect Grandpop showed towards Okgeom? He asked her, but none of his sons, how she felt about Gukhwa becoming part of the family. It seemed clear to me that he acknowledged HER as the one who ultimately runs the household.

There's a lot of "inadequecies" that one might point out in Guk-hwa's working as Yunhu's secretary. Mainly because she doesn't know anything about it. I think that while Shin-young's heart was in the right place, thrusting someone untrained in that field is wrong. It seems fairly easy for someone who's midly even exposed to it, but it's a lot harder for someone with absolutely NO experience. Not siding with him on this, but I can see how Yunhu can be so frustrated (okay, he might overdo it) by Gukhwa's "incompetence." But he fails to recognize the fact that she's only 19! Gukhwa out of the work atmosphere is by far one of my favorite characters from these Korean Dramas. She's so cute and simple it's hard to think anything BUT that about her.

About Hye-suk/Eomji: In ep 14, they say that Eomji is from a comic book series, "The Fabulous Nine", which I think was about a baseball team. "The Fearsome Nine" (?)

I like her character outside work, but when she's at work, and does something abnormal, I just cant look
