I wish that she find someone like Gramps, but closer to her age. He's very affectionate, when he has to be. Most of the time, he's demanding and bossy, but unlike his son, he's got plans in his life and has made something out of himself. Pungu really needs to stop acting as childish as he does.

Gramps should hook up with Grandma Chang over at the Bizarre Bunch. He's a tailor, she makes cucumber squid sandwiches and is known for her "sauce." Perfect match.
Coming to a lounge near you, it's... Uncle Punggu!!
BAE, Punggu not have goals?! Why, he's a World Cup Singer! That's guaranteed work every, what, five years? LOL! I can't help myself. I like Uncle Punggu. The Wayne Newton of Korea.

I miss the first few episodes...did they ever show or explain how Gukhwa and Sungu met before he died? No, not even in mere memory. They simply showed her on board a boat speaking to some elderly travellers about how she was going to Seoul to get married to a man that appears kind-hearted. It was obviously an arranged marriage being that she's only 19 and he's above Ug-yeong's who is 29.

GChang doesn't have false teeth, at least I don't think so, but still, she does fall under the "old women" category. And that Pungu, I like him too, my family members, who also sit down to watch the show with me, can't stand him. I'm shocked. He adds a lot of humor to the show! ;D

I miss the first few episodes...did they ever show or explain how Gukhwa and Sungu met before he died? From California board: Yang Gook Hwa, 19, is an ethnic Korean from Northeastern China. Her family arranges—and she agrees to—an international marriage with the third son of the Hong family of Seoul, Korea. She comes to Korea but her fiancé unexpectedly dies in an accident. So begins her young life alone in Korea.

I think that Gramps is kinda cute, and it will be an interesting storyline, who gets the cafe owner, Grampa or Pungu. At this point I'm going for Gramps, but in the end she will probably choose Pungu because Gramps is really too old for her. Let him find a lovely older woman for himself. Let's hope that Pungu either matures and gets a real job, or he actually makes a living from his music. LOL gpaul! With a name like Pungu, let's hope that he both matures AND get a real job ... and if he lost his hair he wouldn't be fussing with his head so much. I agree that Granpa probably won't get the girl... but it will open his spirit to realize that he would be interested in finding a woman closer to his age ... and if she has her own teeth, hey, it won't get much better then that!

Yang Gukhwa
Anyone know the name of the lead actress. I've never seen her before? She's very lovely. Has she done anything before?

She's Goo Hye Sun....I've looked around and the only other drama that she has been in was called "The Ballad of Suh Dong or Seo Dung Yo" and a sitcom called "Nonstop 5."

Everytime he puts an album out, it coincides when the World Cup is playing. He had explained it around the 5th episode.

The woman Grandpa has a crush on has two names, Hyesun and Eomji. Did I hear her ask one time if a phone call was from a creditor? Maybe she ran out on some debts. Poor Pungu-he should refuse any more meetings with that awful woman. She was starting to sound like Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction-I never let go, or something like that. I will not be IGNORED.

I think her restaurant's called Eomji but her name is Choi Hyesuk. That's what Okgeum knows her as also. I don't know if Eomji is a name or if it means something in Korean.

My K/E dictionary says "Eomji" means "Thumb".
