I haven't watched this drama since September, but last night I turned on the tv around 6pm and it was on. What are the new hours? Back in September it came on around 8pm.
I think I'm going to start watching (even though I've missed so much already) because they are about to show the Korean War.

I was very upset last evening. I turned my TV on at about 6:45 and there it was.... An engagement party, an apology for 'last nite' putting rings on her fingers... WHAT happened? I'm sure it was because of it being Christmas Eve... but there was no warning. Duh... like is there ever?? For weeks now, Alexa, Seoul 1945 has come on at about 7:10-pm and runs till a little before 9:00pm. I'm sure last nite was an exception. I just love this drama and I hope you DO continue to watch it. The characters are so beautifully deep and the story line is so well done. Can anybody fill us in as to the leadup of the engagement? and what exactly happend 'last nite' to warrant an apology?

KBC ran a message across the screen during a show on Sunday saying that due to special programming Seoul 1945 was going to air at 5:40pm.
All I remember is Dong Woo was freed after Park Chang Ju stood up for him. DW was planning on heading to the US but HK asked him to stay. He went to her house and asked for her hand in marriage. At some point I think they forwarded in time. Anyway, OH came back the south and wants to see HK. He's trying to hide while the police is looking for him and he runs into HK.
I know that's kinda vague but that's all I really remember.

I missed at least half of the first episode, but I think Sukyeong asks Park Chang Ju to have DW released as a favor to her. DW is planning to run away to the US, but Hye Kyeong tells him she can't let him leave now that OH has left. Once he's released, all charges are dropped and he is reinstated to his position back at the hotel.
He proposes to HK, but she declines if I remember right. Her family badgers her to marry him, and OH's parents tell her to stop coming around because she reminds them of OH too much. This is said to her as she has prepared and brought them a birthday dinner for OH. She's devastated.
After being "thrown out" by OH's parents, she comes home to find DW waiting outside, drunk and obnoxious, begging her to accept his love and proposal. She stays up all night unable to sleep with everyone's thoughts in her head. The next day she is sitting alone outside her house, and DW comes to apologize for his rude behavior. Instead of his apology, she accepts his proposal… much to everyones surprise including yours truly.
Needless to say, everyone is happy and relieved now that HK and DW are engaged. She plans to resign from the hotel to study the traditions of DW's clan so that she can become the new matriarch or whatever title she's allowed. DW is told to resign his post and enter politics, I think, which would be ironic considering KH's mother told her to leave OH for that very reason.
The rest of the episode was the engagement party with Sukyeong angry and bitter against DW and HK, and being asked to leave. OH is told about the engagement and sneaks back into Seoul as a rice cake merchant during the night. He calls out his wares right outside his family's house, but they're too preoccupied with their discussion to recognize his voice.
Next day finds him inside the hotel observing HK from a distance. He's wearing glasses and a hat along with a fu manchu mustache and beard so is not to be so easily recognized. Unfortunately PCJ has already spotted him and sent a battalion of men to arrest him at the hotel. OH sees them first and hides in a storeroom where HK just happens to be for some reason. She challenges him as to why he is there, not recognizing him from behind. The episode ends as he slowly turns to reveal himself and they both discover each other's identity.

Thank you, zorro! Not only did I get messed up by the schedule change, since I was out of town and had the VCR set, but my tape ran out just as Oon-hyuk started hiding from Kimura Akiraju (I'm deliberately calling him by his Japanese-collaborator name because I hate him) in the hotel. I kept thinking, Who does OH remind me of in that disguise--and the answer came back: JOHNNY DEPP! ... Anyone?

I kept thinking, Who does OH remind me of in that disguise--and the answer came back: JOHNNY DEPP! ... Anyone? ... Yes! The Deppster indeed! OH is just so attractive - all the S1945 guys are great eye candy. Ths is not a story that will end happily ever after. But I continue to love the production. We'll have to be careful of the schedule next Sunday as well... being NewYear's Eve and all.

The time messed me up too... Anyway, I hope they get back to more of the political stuff - all this romance stuff is driving me to DaeJoYoung! I only have enough time to really follow one series. I'd hate to have to leave Seoul right in the middle. But a guy can only handle so much ...

Ah, KyungDaeDoo , with the Korean War on the horizon we can bet we'll be back into the political arena soon. And when the introduce Kim Jung Il's father.. we'll REALLY be in for pure politics A little romance is very good.... but not to dominate what is so historically signficant.
