Hope I'm not repaeting a question posted somewhere else... but, has anyone elso noticed that sometimes the family calls Tteng-chil I think Jeongchil (or something like that)?
ie - if anyone has ep.25 or 26 (last week's eps.), if I remember correctly, during the scene when Tteng-chil and her creepy boy/hubby returned from their "honeymoon," at the parent's house someone - maybe her mom -called her Jeongchil?

maybe you are talking when Ttengchill was talking with Taeja about their child's name coz they said something like their two names together.

I had the same impression as JiminyK. I thought that the subtitler had just had a lapse. I don't recall exactly what was being talked about, but I think Ttengchill's father was there, and the name they used was Jeongchil (I think the conversation was about her, not one in which she was present), not a combo of their two names. (what a combo--Ja-chill? Tae-chill? Tteng-ja? Tae-tteng? LOL ).

The poor kid has a real name, the family just calls her by a boy's name because the father wanted a boy. That's what I remember reading earlier.

Ttengchill is the name her father gave her when she was born, but Jeongchil is the name the mother has the guy put on her on her birth certificate....
Remember in Eps #1when the mother was chasing the father to the office where they register? I think it is part of the opening credits of the show...

Oh, riighhhht. But why are they using the other name now? I hadn't noticed them doing that before. It didn't seem to be a continuing conflict within the family--she was just Ttengchill all along, as far as I knew.

Ducky, thanx for clearing that up. I missed the first couple of episodes, so i would have NEVER known about that. Guess it must still be something, though, beacuse both parents have called her Jeongchil pn different occasions, though it doesn't seem to be out of spite or anger or built-up resentment. And, I noticed, only the parents do so, not the sisters or the grandma
