I'm catching up on the episodes. Lt. Bang is cute, his character is kind of dry, but it seems like he's trying. Too bad she doesn't like him. And I think he looked cute in his uniform.
But judging from the previews for episode 7 it also looks like his persistent is getting Seochill in trouble with her dad. They've met like twice and he already wants to get married?!

Wow, can't believe she's adopted ...I'm wondering when the truth comes out if it'll bring Seo-chil and Mi-chil closer or push them further apart?

Did they ever mention how she came into the family or was it just like "Yeah, you should've never brought her home...."?

They haven't explained anything yet. I think this is meant to be a big family secret that won't be fully disclosed until late in the series, when we (and Seolchill) finally learn why she was brought into the family.

Mom and Grandma knows the secret behind SeoChil's birth and adoption. They must have been sworn never ever to let SeoChil know the truth by Army Dad.It must be something terrible for the grandma to keep mum for so long. She has such a wicked tongue and is not the sort who can keep things under wrap especially since she openly shows her dislike for SeoChil. I don't think D-Chil or T-Chil knows that SeoChil is not their real sister,so I wonder how MiChil found out.

It's been explained to the viewers already. It has to do with a promise the dad made to his dying best friend in the army. They keep it a secret from SC, but grandma is doing her best to spill the beans.

So I lied when I say that I am giving on this show... For some reason no matter how much I try not to watch, I end up watching Channel 41 repeats its on Monday and Tuesday... what heck, I guess I'll just finish it... it's to late now to stop tunning in...
Soju, I completely agree with you... she is trouble! And the worst part about her, she's in Michil's side.... Now there's double trouble!!!
Zero, when did they explain the whole SC being adopted thing happened?

I don't think it was explained/revealed that SeoChil is adopted. The first epsd showed a flash back....it was during the Vietnam war,a soldier was shot and dying, and army dad promised to look after his baby...whom we all presume to be SeoChil. Also,Grandma treats her like an outsider and says things like'should never have let you into the family' and MiChil.....almost spilled the beans once or twice. So,basically,at this juncture, they are just throwing hints here and there. It may be quite some time before we know the real story behind SeoChil's adoption. This is going to be a long drama.Ratings have hit the 40s and overtook Jumong to be the No 1 drama last week.I don't know whether the producer will extend the drama now that it is doing so well.So it may take a while for all of us and SeoChil to find out the truth about her parentage.

They keep it a secret from SC, but grandma is doing her best to spill the beans. I also can’t recall how “it’s been explained to the viewers already.” I do remember that when Seolchill rejected the stiff-but-proper Navy Lieutenant, Army Dad was irrationally furious with her. But later, as Army Dad reconciled with Seolchill over drinks, he explained why he wanted them paired up so badly: he’d made a promise to his dead army buddy that he’d marry his daughter into the dead Army Buddy’s family - and the Navy Lieutenant she was meeting was a member of the dead Army Buddy’s family. That explanation satisfied Seolchill (and yours truly, as well) but that was BEFORE any of us knew that Seolchill was adopted. And that changed everything. In a society where a “Kim” can’t marry another “Kim” without verifying that they’re from different “Kim” clans, it’s inconceivable that Army Dad would allow Seolchill to marry someone who was actually a blood relative. That’s why I said that we may have to wait a while before we find out exactly where Seolchill came from.

Yes, I agree with Mikey, I remembered the father saying that the promise to his friend was to get her hitched to his friend's son or whoever it was.

She can't be Sgt.Na's buddy's daughter, since he died in the Vietnam conflict, which ended in 1975, and she was born in 1978. So what can be her connection to the buddy's family (if any)?
Inqiring minds want to know!
