Well, I was cooking and didn't want to compromise my understanding of the show so I decided to tape it because there would be no repeat. Due to intermittent reception, I was only able to actually view 80% (in the meantime I was watching a fascinating show on Newton and how he had mathematically interpreted the apocalypse as occurring in 2060 and how he felt that the Trinity goes against the idea of god being supreme, but I digress). Anyway, I thought I would pass along the following synopsis in order that we can all begin this journey on equal footing for our mutual enjoyment (looks like a pretty cool show). If I happen to omit anything important, feel free to add to this summary; as I said some of the stuff was not viewable and my conversational Korean skills are non existent (got myself in trouble at the local market after offering my "anneung haseyo" to the nice woman and she left me dumbfounded after telling me my bill in Korean; thankfully she was quite fluent in English and had no problem pointing to the readout on the cash register and finishing her thanks and salutation in English..... ). Alright, let's see if I can make this into a coherent piece. One more thing, thanks to Mikey for offering a brief overview of the series, but as he mentioned, knowledge of the first three episodes is recommended prior to reading his post, and most of y'all knows how I hates spoilers......For those like minded community members, I offer this view (although as stated, some of the pieces are missing, but I think I got the important parts).

The scene opens on a young man climbing a very sheer and very tall rock face somewhere in the wilderness. After making it successfully to the top and admiring the view (it was breathtaking, but I'm glad I wasn't all the way up there on that little pinnacled) the scene suddenly switches to a crowded sidewalk in the city, presumably Seoul, in which we find a young woman talking to a colleague on a cell phone about a meeting about to take place which she was not originally supposed to be attending. Through the conversation, we find that the person on the phone was involved in a car accident and thus requiring the woman on her way to the meeting to fill in last minute for a presentation. Not to worry, she is well acquainted with the material to be presented and has downloaded and printed out anything she might need for the meeting. After greetings with the owner, perhaps marketing manager, of a high profile department store and her congratulating him on a successful ad campaign for some new product line, the screen in the meeting room comes down and the video presentation begins.....
Meanwhile, we find the rock climber descending the cliff triumphantly on the walking trail only to come upon a group of hikers gathered around a companion that has lost conciousness. The climber runs to the prone man's aid and begins to administer CPR and directs the group to call 911 to have a helicopter brought to the scene. On board the helicopter we see that the hiker is with the patient and administering cardiac shock via a defribulator at ever increasing voltages; obviously he's a doctor.
As the helicopter lands at the hospital and he gives the team on the roof the detailed information about the patient he has just saved, we find the woman from the business presentation stuck in traffic en route to the 70th birthday party of her mother-in-law. After conversing briefly with her yobo on the phone, he convinces her to ditch the car and take the subway as all of the guests have already arrived at the banquet hall and are waiting for her arrival. (This couple is Yeon-kyung and her husband is Yoon-ho). She goes to the bathroom after getting a bag from hubby, changes into her hanbok, and comes out to MC the party. After opening remarks she commands the music to play and beckons Yoon-ho to come up and sing a song to his mother. A grand time is had by all and the mother is having a wonderful party surrounded by her extended family which came from all corners of the country to attend the festivities.
Back at the hospital, Dr. LEE, Inseok is approached by a colleague, Dr. KIM Ki-ho (of My Rosy Life, he was the husband of the sister-in-law. I'm using the list for the names; at this point only Dr. Lee has been called by name, but it's going to be too confusing if I don't assign names at this point) and kids him about his spandex attire. Dr. Lee explains that he has just returned from a trip to Japan, immediately when rock climbing on arrival and happened to save a heart attack victim on the mountain, flew in by helicopter and that is why he's dressed in that manner. Dr. Kim suggests going for drinks, but Dr. Lee says he is tired and hasn't even showered yet, altough Dr. Kim points out that all of the recent activity reveals that his colleague has plenty of energy to spare. They wind up at a jazz bar with a couple of women doctors and another that has imbibed to some extent prior to their arrival and is dancing to the band's music, beer in hand. The group discusses Dr. Lee's life saving encounter and chats a bit.
The scene then finds us in the study of Yoon-ho, who is proudly playing with a newly acquired camera, at which point he is beckoned by his wife from another part of the house. After extinguishing a cigarette, vainly attempting to clear the air with a towel, hiding the ashtray in the drawer and returning the camera to it's case, he attends to Yeon-kyung in the kitchen. She is frying up some meatballs for the boy's (two young sons) gathering at kindergarten the next morning. She is lightly spattered in ingredients and asks Yoon-ho to try a bit of the finished product. He asks why all of the effort is being expended to which she replies that all the mothers are required to bring a dish or pay $100. Yoon-ho suggests that it would be better to pay, and confirms this dig after spitting out the meatball he has just sampled and wondering aloud why her cooking hasn't improved after all these years of practice.
In another house, we find the uberwife (Yoon-sook) putting the finishing touches on her various dishes for her daughter's kindergarten party while the daughter is about to see her father (Jinsoo, famous movie actor and TV host) about to be interviewed on television. After telling the child to go to bed, since it's late, she pauses to watch disdainfully as her yobo is showered with all manner of praise by the interviewer for his wonderful talents before turning off the TV.
Back at the jazz bar, the doctors are continuing their get together when one of them, the slightly imbibed one (by the way, I think he is the senior physician, as Dr. Kim earlier referred to him as father?) asks where Dr. Choi is. Somebody offers that she is still working, at which point we see that she is in a women's ward being confronted by the very drunken spouse of a patient. She explains to him that she will give him a better explanation in the morning when he returns sober, but he becomes beligerent and demands to see a male doctor to get the answers about his wife's condition. Dr. CHOI, Yun-suh stands her ground and even stands down the threat of physical violence from the man by attempting to call security, at which point the man finally leaves.
At the kindergarten party, Yeon-kyung is ashamed of her Alpo looking meatballs displayed on the same table as the professional looking offerings of Yoon-sook and her proud daughter, which includes a beautifully executed cake which is singled out for recognition by the teacher. Yeon-kyung's older son (Kang-min) says that his mother's meatballs are the best, at which point the younger son (Kang-joon) admonishes his older sibling for lying, to which the mother cheerfully agrees that her cooking is indeed horrible. Just then, Yeon-kyung is called by her boss to return to the office and dashes off leaving the boys a bit heartbroken by her departure.
Back at the hospital, the doctors are doing morning rounds. The first patient is a cantankerous old female hypochondriac who scolds Dr. Lee for being an idiot and leaving for Japan while she's dying. Dr. Kim assures her that her tests were negative and she's in quite good health, he even compliments her on her bright wardrobe.
In another part of the hospital, some emergency ward patient is in the midst of a violent outburst and ends up decking a rather hulking male nurse (Mancheol, although the list has him as Man-chul, so there may end up being discrepencies in spelling as we go, but I think we're all smart enough to cope) with one punch. Upon regaining consciousness momentarily, he notices the blood coming from his nose and promptly faints. We then follow the forlorn soul schlepping his belongings in a box on his way to reporting to his new assignment as a floor nurse. The staff nurses are dismayed that the new assignee is not placed in ER, but one divulges that he was inept and upon his arrival, proceeds to display those very qualities by dropping his belongings and being basically clueless. Drs. Lee, Kim and Choi are at the nurse's station to observe the "graceful" display and have a chuckle imagining the future calamities of the new male nurse. Walking away, Dr. Kim experiences some stomach pain and suggests a round of drinking to alleviate the symptoms to which Dr. Lee asks how he can drink like that and tell his patients not to do so, but Dr. Lee reminds him that he says that out of duty, not personal belief.
Yeon-kyung arrives at the hospital to check up on her injured colleague whom we find to have been a pedestrian at the time of the car accident, and although her foot is in a cast, she reveals that she received only a sprained ankle and a minor head contusion. Before she reaches the room though, she is seen by Dr. Lee and he appears to recognize her (or at least stares long enough to qualify as ogling, but not leering). Anyway, in the middle of the conversation with her ailing colleague/friend she gets a phone call from her baby sitter reminding her that she must leave early to make a family engagement of her own. Yeon-kyung call yobo, Yoon-ho, to save the day, but he's on a photo stake out for the newspaper and can't be called away as his subject will be exiting the building at any moment. Yeon-kyung reluctantly resigns herself to handling it all alone and laments over being an executive manager, mother and doing all of the housework with no help from yobo. After reminding her that today is the final day for company health checkups for insurance(?), Yeon-kyung's friend reveals her admiration at her ability to handle all the responsibility single handedly. Yeon-kyung thanks her friend for her praise but reveals her true jealousy of the quintessential uberwife, Yoon-sook, whom we see ironing in her home. Later, Yeon-kyung embarks on her physical examination before returning home to he babysitter who is quite perturbed at being made to wait and be late for her own engagement.
Yoon-sook feels a draft and decides to close the window, but finds the window is stuck in position. She sees a workman in the yard and goes to ask him to please help with the sticky window, even offering monetary compensation for his efforts. Silently refusing and offering a cold, disdainful look as his response, he eventually walks in to handle the problem and leaves without accepting the compensation, all without uttering a single grunt. As he leaves Yoon-sook holding her money, begging him to take it, movie star, Jinsoo, arrives home after a bicycle ride to witness the scene and wonders what's just transpired. Yoon-sook replies that nothing at all was going on and the scene ends.
We are next shown the inside of a jail cell containing about 5 women when an off screen voice commands quiet and calls out the name HAN Kyungsook several times. A prone woman wakes from her nap and is shown walking out of the jail, greeted by two friends, one trashily dressed street walker looking woman and a male side kick who definitely looks the part of a comedic second banana (who may have slipped on his own peel many times). After refusing the offering by the female of some tofu by striking it to the ground, she begins her rant about being falsely jailed since it was the other guys that didn't pay for their drinks. Walking from the station, the group passes by Yoon-ho (the photographer) and a mutual moment of recognition occurs silently as they pass one another. In the next scene we find that Kyung-sook is the owner of a bar and the cheaply dressed woman is her barmaid. While examining the books, Kyung-sook laments at the poor performance of the business in her absence to which the barmaid replies that there were no customers. Kyung-sook yells at her to go out and rustle up some business just like the other successful bars do.
While cleaning Yoon-ho's study, Yeon-kyung comes upon the newly acquired camera and is visibly upset at her husband's irresponsible purchase. Later, while in the kitchen cleaning some dishes, she is greeted by her newly arrived slightly drunken husband who then tries to cheer up his wife by singing a bit of karaoke for her. It works in helping elevate her mood a bit but she still balls him out for buying a new camera (as we had seen earlier, the den is festooned with dozens of cameras on the shelves.) Later that evening, while doing the family accounting, Yeon-kyung is worried as to how the bills will be paid, including the mortgage to which she suggests dropping her health insurance. Yoon-ho says that's the last thing she should do, and suggests that they sell the house and rent to which she steadfastly announces, "That will never happen!" She has worked too hard and always wanted the house with the white picket fence and there's no way she's going to give that up now. Yoon-ho then says that he ran into Yeon-kyung's sister, Kyun-sook at the police station and she replies that she "has no sister".
Back at the hospital, Dr. Kim is seeing a patient in his office who is experiencing stomach pains when all of a sudden, Dr. Lee is afflicted with a pain that makes him bolt straight to the men's room and plop down on the toilet. He frantically calls Dr. Lee from the "throne" and asks him to take his patient load. Dr. Lee gives him a bit of grief for drinking so much and creating his own discomfort, asking the man if perhaps he should call the Dr's wife in New Zealand and report his drinking behavior? Dr. Lee then chuckles and heads to take care of the next patient, who just happens to be Yeon-kyung waiting for the results of the previous day's physical exam, but he fails to notice her sitting in the hall on the phone waiting to be called by the nurse. When she does enter the office after being called, there is a moment of awkward recognition by both Dr. Lee and Yeon-kyung, after which he calls her by her first name and she gives a rather embarrased look away and heads for the door to leave..........
Well that's about it and if I do say so myself, quite a posting worthy of #500! Hope that helps everyone, and if you have more to add that I missed, by all means feel free to ammend. Thanks again to Mikey, but I couldn't read your post because I didn't want to know more than what I know right now.
