Is anybody else bothered by the fact that all of a sudden, the big bad bodyguard forgot how to defend himself? I'm not talking about the scene at the cemetery with his girlfriend's half brother which was shamelessly edited for our mutual viewing displeasure, but rather the ending when he is doing the "hit" he was hired to do (apparently for his expertise) and then proceeds to block all of the punches and blunt force trauma with his face? Is this the same guy that could one day become the champion kick boxer? It's the same gripe I have with cartoon ducks. Why can't they fly? Real duck can fly, and cartoon characters are supposed to be able to accomplish anything a mere mortal can and then some, ie. blowing up, falling only after realizing there is no ground supporting your weight, or recovering from the always nearly fatal 16 ton weight dropped from above. Only cartoon ducks are incapable of flying out of harm's way and this merely for comedic reasons, not physical limitations.

I think you've asked the question too soon. I think the next episode or two will explain that (I hope).

I think your right captainvideo, he is suppose to be this bad ass but I think since he didn't want to join the gang in the first place and didn't want to be there in the first place His mind wasn't all there he was fighting with rage and I figure he didn't concentrate in the task. He only went there because he needed money for the hospital bill and I guess he felt pressured and desperate. But like chi8 said we will see his reason in next episode.

Well, two more episodes out of the way and we don't know any more about why he didn't stay with the fight. One clue might be who was in the car they were supposed to attack. It was only a very brief glimpse, but it was an older man with black hair and a dark suit sitting in the back seat. Was it the father of the "heir to the Korea Corporation", a/k/a/ Grampa? That would also be the father of Bokgu's employer.

CaptainVideo I agree with you, I was shocked how much he took the night of the beating. Except one thing he is still the bad boy. He walked out of hospital the very next day. I thought he was going to be in the hospital for at least one whole episode. I still hurt all over when i think of that fight, or was he in the hospital longer? It seem like one night. I know why a speedy recovery it was the necklace!

Yeah, I don't know. On levels like that, the show is kind of a drag, but I'm still watching it and having a good time of it. Karen, you're right about the samurai sword talisman though; she said it would protect him. I'm willing to cut this story some slack, I posted this somewhere else today so I won't elaborate here, but I do feel that there is a sinister psychological game being played here by Bokgu and somebody is going to be badly hurt. I just don't think it will be the intended party. But, to continue a thought, who were those guys? What happened to the rest of Bokgu's people? I think I heard something of only about 16 episodes? It's nearly half over, they're going to have to do some resolving soon, hopefully they won't forget about these nagging details.

During the fight ... I could of sworn I heard a gunshot. I thought that is what 'weakened' him

Oh yes CaptainVideo, Bokgu is playing a huge game. I think with the actress. I'm feeling the "hit" really is nothing, just put in to keep the male audience into it for your entertainment. This is a twisted love story and the rest is just for thrills. I could be wrong about this. Thats not what you want to hear I'm sure. I do love this drama but I probably focus to much on the sappy stuff. I have a feeling we will never know what went down with the "hit" or who were those guys. Hope you do get answers. I just want Dajung to wear that wedding dress she admired in the first episode in the last episode.

Hi miss larice, I also heard a gun shot. I thought Bokgu was going to be put in a bed next to his brother after that fight.

So what happened, how'd this fight come about? This was a "hit" in which Bokgu was hired to partake. For whatever reason, the intended target appeared to be sydicate guys and they handed Bokgu his butt on a tray. I didn't notice any more casualties, I think the other guys ran. I was going to broach the subject, but figured I would leave well enough alone. However, since a gunshot was clearly heard (not by me, but ok.), those syndicate guys looked really menacing. My thought was that they really expended much more energy that most mobsters and the could have just shot these punks. But, I just assumed that guns were illegal in Korea (which wouldn't stop a criminal). Visually, this piece is pretty good and I'm always in favor of a good mind game for an evening's amusement, I'll just have to get over the arbitrary action sequences other than for asthetic purposes.

So who was it that hired Bokgu to do this?

So who was it that hired Bokgu to do this? A couple of weeks ago, these two tough guys stop Bokgu's girlfriend and the curly haired guy on their way home. The girlfriend is immediately suspicious and asks who they are and what do they want? The curly haired guy recognizes them as members of a gang from up the street and they've come to recruit Bokgu. At that point, the girlfriend shrieks that Bokgu will never join a gang (although, I thought that they were collecting extortion money from the local merchants?) yet one of the ruffian's phones rings and it's Bokgu's voice on the speaker asking where they are. I also believe that it was in that scene that it was revealed that Bokgu took the job to pay for his brother's hospital bills. Also, the girlfriend reveals that she never told Bokgu about the blackmail money she received from Eunsuk to pay for the bill.
