Everyone got papayas from Haein alla sudden, but the only explanation or context I remember seeing is when Kiwoong and Haein were talking about it in the office. Did any other Chicago viewers see more than I did, or do you think it was cut out?

I only saw them talk about it in the office, but I have another papaya related question:
Why were they making that crunching sound when they were slicing them? I thought papayas were soft...

I think only Ki-woong got papayas, as part of the crop Hae-in's family got from relatives. He brought his fruit home, so his mom and HI's mom are making papaya tea. ?? Wonder if it's fermented. They must preserve it some way.
At Ruby of Siam, there's a dish called green papaya salad, served with coconut rice. The salad is ok, kind of sour, but the rice is delicious! So it's crunchy, sort of. Ripe ones are tasty, but maybe they don't keep.

I believe Hae-in's family always goes to visit those relatives during this holiday and she has always brings back papayas for Ki-woon. KW's mom made some comment about how he always brings papayas home around this time of year. He didn't answer when she asked him who gave them to him though. Judging from the fact that the ditsy aunt didn't go with, I would assume they visit Hae-in's mom's mom.
