*** EDITS MADE 2-8-05 ***
well, it seems that we have tons of guests and new members. which is not a bad thing at all. {my only gripe is that i have gotten used to quite a few people here, so now i am a little confused} anyway, it seems that the first thing new members do is ask a question. but the problem is, that it is a question that has been asked many times before. therefore, for the sake of our great new members, i have decided to post a small aow FAQ.
Q: Is Aow going to come out on dvd? if so, were can i find it?
A: Sorry, there is no news of aow appearing on dvd, let alone in the states, subtitled. we all want it though. and if it will, someone will post it. but as of right now, all we fans can do is wait.
Q: Does AOW come on in ______, were i live?
A: AOW airs in Chicago, LA, SF {i think}, San Diego, Hawaii, New York State and North Jersey {from WMBC}, Phily and south jersey {from WYBE}, and possibly in Seattle. i don't know if it airs anywere else. but if you live in one of the areas listed above, then rejoice, you have the chance to see one of the greatest shows.
Q: What happened to _________ {character's name} / What is happening now?
A: We AOW fans post something about everysingle episode that comes by. sometimes 5 or 6 when something big happens. so, if you missed an episode, just check on the boards. and if you know you are going to miss an episode, just ask before-hand. this happens to be most friendly community on the internet. believe me, 3 or 4 people will tell you what you missed within a day.
Q: Is AOW based on real history?
A: Yes it is. The show takes place in 12th century koryo. It began in 1170, the year of the military coup which resulted in the end of civil rule, and the beginning of a time when the generals control everything.. here is some suggested reading:

An Archfiend/ Yi Ko/ Yi Ui Bang/ Che Won/ Captain Park/ Muby fan such as myself, only has a single chapter which will fascinate them.}
Also, be aware that there is many holes in history that is filled in. For example, there was no "Imperial Dragon" army. It was a myth used by the writers to explain Kim Sami's historic revolt, in which he wanted to bring down Koryo, and reinstall Shilla. It was said that Yi Ui Min, who was pretty much the big man at that point, had secret connections with them. This is just a hole in history filled with some overly dramatic imagination. Also, know that Kyung Dae Seung {portraied here as a pansy} was in real history, a man who used his promises to dominate the royal court. Poor idiot died of stress at the age of thirty.
Take note that Yi Ui Min is a hero to the Tae Kwon Do community {not the seven year olds who don't want to play football} as a man who once broke a wall by punching it. It was said that he killed men by punching them in their backs. He was undefeated untill his assasination in 1196 by Choi Choong-hon. Remember that contrary to the show, he at this point was much too old to fight back, let alone kill half of an elite army with an axe that weighs as much as he does. The most important historical piece is from Emperor Ui-Jong's writings, in which it states that he was promoted due to his superier strength, and martial arts abiltites. Great way to repay your former master. You get him drunk, roll him in a mat, and throw him in a river. And, another point were AOW changed hsitory. It was Chung Jung-Bu's orders, which had to happen, since Ui-Jong was a threat as long as he was alive, even though he was deposed.
Q: How many more episodes are left in AOW/ How many episodes are in AOW?
A: As of 2-08-05, AOW is finished in all areas besides Philadelphia/SOuth Jersey. I'l miss it, but it's been replaced by the "Immortal Yi Soon Shin".
q: who is your favorite/ least favorite character?
