I guess I'm as out of it as Jae-doh, but I've never heard this term. A Google search showed that Google was equally out of it. I assume this is some sort of online token or scrip. Is this something involved with online gaming, perhaps? Can someone enlighten an old fogey?

I think it's a money equivalent in the onlne community site Cyworld. I'm not even sure if what you're talking about is that (cydotori) or something else, and if it's that, then I'm not completely sure if I'm right. But since people seem to talk about buying this dotori with money and then buying something with this dotori thing, it seems like some sort of cyber money.

I also felt like a dufus when that was brought up on the show - as if anyone who's even marginally computer literate must surely know what an "Internet Chestnut" is.
No, I don't have the slightest idea what they're talking about, either, but donilpark's explanation does seem reasonable enough.

Well, I'm the biggest knuckehead of us all. I thought, when the daughter said she'd teach her father about the computer in exchange for some chesnuts... I thought she was talking about ACTUAL chestnuts! I figured it was considered some sort of fashionable treat for teenage Koreans today!!! I'll go and put my bloomers and corset on now.

I, too, had no idea, Teresa. I bet it's only a Korean term. P.S. Don't tie your corset too tight!

Indeed, Soapygrams, I shall take care in the wind so as not to show my well-turned ankles!! HA! I believe I could not keep up with American teenage fashions even when I WAS a teenager, let alone with what is trendy today. As for what is fashionable for Korean teenagers... I'm certain I am even more hopeless than our poor mother Minwoo.

Tee-hee. When I followed mtlandis's link I saw that G-man has as his sig line, "R.I.P. In-kyung and Bok-soon (2005-2005); You may be gone, but you will never be forgotten! LOL. P.S. They were characters on "My Sweetheart, My Darling" who disappeared without notice and for flimsy reasons. I wonder what G-man has against Ki-joon's sister? (can't remember her name, but the same thing happened to her.)

Yeah, Jin-ah. She went off to some foreign country with her boyfriend and was never heard from again. Maybe she and In-kyung are rooming together somewhere.

Bok-soon isn't dead -- She got lost, wandered onto the wrong set and they gave her a job pushing a mop in a sauna on the show Dangerous Love. I've seen maybe 5 or 10 episodes out of 80 something and all she does is push a mop and complain. At least on MSMD she could sit around, play cards & drink. Bad career move...

Hey guys...just figured I'd stop by for a bit... How long do you think it will take for Da-jung to be sent off to the U.S. to "study abroad"? I mean, it is going to happen sooner or later...I don't want Da-jung to go! That was the same way I lost my In-kyung...lol... (Oh, and about Jin-ah...to be honest, I thought she was really annoying. Normally, I like the annoying characters, but I didn't see the point of having Jin-ah on the show. She didn't really do anything; she just kind of sat around and made little snide comments every now and then, and she rarely got significant camera time. IMO she was just all of EMIL's bad qualities personified. Maybe if she had a more significant role I would have liked her... )
