Is it just me or did KBC skip to episode 5? The last episode I remember seeing was number 2 or 3. The one where the guy who came back from the U.S. got really drunk and then the scooter girl was debating whether or not to take him with her.

No, after that, GC, the scooter girl did take him with her, but he was too drunk to tell her where he lived and she tried to fob him off on a taxi driver. But the driver wouldn't take him alone, so she went with him to a hotel. When they woke up the next morning, he was a jerk; he didn't remember anything and assumed she was some kind of floozy or prostitute, and even when he found out she had helped him, he was still hugely offensive. Also, he didn't have any money in his wallet to pay her for the room or the taxi, so she frog-marched him to an ATM. The machine ate his card, so he couldn't get the money, and she forced him to give her his watch as security and he said he would bring the money to her work later that day. For some reason, he didn't--I don't remember why. And then she got fired, as you see, though I can't recall how the bar got in such a mess. It's been too long between episodes. Oh, the best part was that after he handed over his watch, she kicked him in the shins--HARD--for being such a jerk to her. I think she must be the "Peculiar Woman" of the title, because she does things the usual shrinking-violet heroines wouldn't dream of.

Ouch! Got to love that kick in the shin...wonder if it will give him a contusion? He deserved it though. He was being a real jerk to someone that helped him out.

Suk-hyun arrived late to pay back the money because he got into a fender-bender. Joong-nam is having a wild party by herself in the bar: swilling wine and dancing with the music turned up loud. The door is locked, and she can't hear him at the door.
The next morning, the boss comes in, sees that the bar is trashed, and fires her, saying "Now I know where all the missing food and drinks have been going."

Yoo-jung calls Byung-do's sister, and says he wants her to come home. She does, and when she tells him that she's divorced, with no alimony, and that her ex has run away, Byoug-doh loses it, ranting and raving, hitting her with a cushion, and brandishing a golf club.
[Cut out here, amongst other things, was Jae-ok remembering when her son recorded the telephone message.]
Jae-ok opens the store, and notices that the "Help Wanted" sign has been taken down.
While she is taking care of some customers, Jong-nam enters, and orders ramen.
At work, Ki-woong is teased about conting the rice.
Back at the restaurant, Jong-nam pays for the ramen (seems the thieves didnt get ALL her money), and presents the "Help Wanted" sign, asking if room and board are available.
Suk-hyun's parents are getting ready to leave the house. Nara remarks on Jae-man's srong cologne, and asks to see his cell phone. She notes that it has a different ring tone than yesterday, and he replies "Well, you didn't like that one." She looks suspicious.
Her MIL arrives just as Jae-man is leaving. Mal-ja tells Nara that if Min-sook dressed as nice as Nara, Jae-doh would have a better career. Oh, and could they give preferential treatment to Ki-woong? Nara says that's against the rules.
At the office, Suk-hyun overhears Hae-in giving some shrimp to a cleaning woman whose husband has just been released from the hospital. As she's walking away, Suk-kyun deliberately runs into her, and tells her, "You still pretend to be kind." She counters with, "You're still arrogant." He invites her to lunch, and they go to his Aunt's restaurant.
Aunt has brought Jong-nam home, and says she can sleep in her son's room (she was nodding off while eating the ramen, and obviously needs sleep).
The office staff leaves for lunch Ki-woong wonders where Hae-in is, They tell him Suk-hyun took her to lunch, probably to a fancy restaurant, and leave. Ki-woong is surprised and disapointed, then hurries after his co-workers.
At Jae-ok's resaurant, Suk-hyun introduces Hae-in as an old school friend (she knows the two cousins from back then; I notice she calls Ji-woong "Sunbae"), who is now Product Development Manager. She orders ramen, but Aunt bring other food as well, saying just ramen isn't enough. The restaurant suddenly gets very busy, an Hae-in gets up to help serve.
Suk-hyun later chides her for that, and she says it's an occupational hazzard; she can't stand to see customers inconvenienced.
Jae-man arrives at the cafe where Ok-doo works (she's not there) with Miss Shim. She says she like the music they put on, and he tells her certain kinds of music are for certain times of day. She is oh-so-impressed.
Jae-doh comes home, and goes to his daghter's room with a big bag of chestnuts, and says "Here you are, now teach me to use the computer." She says "No! I meant Internet Chestnuts (?)" and berates her father for being slow, and no wonder he never gets a promotion. Min-sook overhears this, and slaps and chastises Da-jung.
Jong-nam wakes up, and tells Jae-ok she's made up all the sleep she missed. Jae-ok asks "So, you dated Min-woo?" Jong-nam aswers yes. "What about your Parents?" They're in the States, on business. "Don't you miss them?" She's going to see them on witer break. Everthing Jong-nam says sounds suspicious.
Min-sook and Jae-doh get up early to go up the mountain to get spring water.
Nara gives Suk-hyun an envelope to drop off at his Aunt's restaurant. She gets a phone call, apparently about setting up a match for Suk-hyun.
He drops off the envelope, and chats with his Aunt. Jong-nam is in the back, and looks up in shock to recognize his voice.
[the end]

Wow.. Imagine being able to recognize someone's voice after just one encounter and little under 28 words spoken that too. Thanks Soju! That was incredibly detailed.

I imagine if someone peed on you, those 28 words would be etched in your mind

I'm very confused. The episode you're recounting--and it is episode 5--was just shown last night (Thursday), so why did BAE think yesterday morning that she'd missed it, and how did Soju know yesterday afternoon what had happened in it? Am I the only one who's confused? Did everyone else see episode 6 last night? And no, I'm not crazy and imagining that KBC is beaming a different episode into my home than everyone else's ; I'm wondering if I've messed up my videotape sequence.

I think that you missed taping Episode 6, Lucy. Because KBC started rebroadcasting with Episode 4, so you should be on Episode 6. Umm Yesterday, Nara starts to get suspicious of her husbands two different cell phone ring tones and starts to ponder about that a bit as she makes arrangements with a friend. Da-jung meanwhile feels sorry for what happened with he father and decides to make it up by meeting him at his workplace, not sure what his occupation is though. And she and her father take the bus home. And on the bus, the father takes a student's seat because of his daughter who told the student that he has done something to his back. Daddy dearest is rather pleased and their relationship seems unaffected. Then it comes to a short clip at the home of the Jang Grandma. And Da-jung is actually making an effort to teach her father a thing or two about computer applications. Then the mom comes back in the room and tells the father not to disturb da-jung because she's working too hard or something like that. Then, Oh darn, I keep forgetting the sequence of events, but maybe somebody can clear that up for you. But Jong-nam and the Aunt are making food and cleaning their restaurant and stuff while Ti-woong and his co-workers eat. Everyone leaves, Ti-woong is introduced to Jong-nam and she asks him to pay up, rather forcing the money out of his hands and handing it to the Aunt. So, he's taken aback by that and goes back to the workplace. Hae-in is with her Boss, the Cheating husband, and he's talking to his wife about lunch plans. And she says she's got something to do. And then dismisses Hae-in and suggests that his wife do something to bring hae-in and suk-hyun together... I don't know if you want me to continue... But I am assuming you do... LOL.. Neway, umm Then the scene shifts to Hae-in in Suk-hyun's office and she's talking business with him in a respectful way, but he demands that she talk down to him, she doesn't though. there's definite potential for these two. Also, as hae-in comes out of the office, she bumps into ti-woong who makes this comment about getting together with suk-hyun one of these days. Hae-in asks if he's ever been on a blind date and tries to set him up with someone. He in turn says something about her being angry or something if he actually did go out on one. ti-woong has this disappointed look on his face when hae-in contacts someone for him and says something to the effect of "is everything i say like a joke to you?" and well, that's that. Then that odd couple of byung-doo and his wife. he yells at her earlier in the show for not being a good recylcer and makes her memorize and list those things that can be recycled. and he quizzes her when he gets back home, only realizing later that she cheated by writing it on her palm. She's not very suave. ;D Anway, then it goes back to suspicious ms. Jang. She meets her friend in the cafe.. and overhears that Shim chick on the phone with someone who has the same license plate as her husband. She doesn't say anything though. Sorry, lucy, i might skip some things because of my lack of memory power. Umm.... Then, it's ordering time again for the lot of those hungry workpeople and ki-woong asks his aunt to deliver. Jong-nam takes the food to them and on her way up, she sees Suk-hyun. She asks for her money back, and he asks for his watch. and that's where it ends.... Hope that recapped you... If you wanted one that is..

I sure did, BAE. Thanks a million. The funny thing is, some of the events you describe I did see, and others I didn't. I wonder if I am just going mental. I can't keep the characters straight. Most of the young ones look alike to me, and I can't remember their names. I guess I'll catch on eventually, but this one isn't really grabbing me so far. You know, I have the last episode of "My Sweetheart" on the beginning of the tape I'm using, and I haven't taped over it yet, and even though I hated that drama toward the end, at least I knew who everyone was! I'm feeling a little nostalgic for that fact. I'm still glad "Sweetheart" is over with, but compared to this "Peculiar" show, it feels reassuring to rewind my tape a little too far and see Jae-min and Screech Mom again.

I'm having a problem with keeping all of these new shows and their characters straight. All the shows are kind of new, and none are historical, so it's really hard, don't even mention the names-whew! I guess it will be easier after a week or so, because of the time without our shows, like a summer vacation in elementary school, we forget the long division.
