o.O whats goin on T.T ?!!!!!!! Hyesun is the sister(?) of the brothers? and she had Jungwoo right? then how could Jungwoo be one of the brothers? is Hyesun the mother of the brothers? that would make her the mother of sungmin, sungjae, jungwoo right? also, i sorta missed the first couple eps and before, i missed the previous 4 eps. so can anyone fill me in from beginning to where we are now? im getting seriously confused everytime i watch. btw does anyone understand why jungwoo wants to not meet Hyesun anymore? i know that she was the lender but arent they friends? and its not like Hyesun took away their KFC(jk chicken store just to make them suffer.

I think it's pretty clear that Hye-sun isn't REALLY the Han family's sister. At that luncheon, they discussed how they didn't want to call her "mother" so she must have married their father at some point. That means she's their stepmother.
As near as I can tell, Hye-sun was some sort of ward of the Han father, and ended up married to him, had Jung-woo but left for some reason after the father died. Sung-mi (sister) spitefully told Hye-sun's friend that they were going to send Jung-woo to the orphanage even though REALLLY Sung-jae (Chx-man) and wife had decided to raise the boy. Sung-mi seems to have forgotten this minor bit of history. I wonder if it'll come to bite her in the butt, LOL.
Sung-jae put up his chicken place as collateral for a loan for Sung-min (loser brother who appears to be having some sort of health issues--oh oh), and Hye-sun was the loan shark he got it from (unknowingly--she has front men). She apparently decided to foreclose on the loan. So, yes, I think Hye-sun foreclosed on the loan just to make the Han family suffer.
Also, Yeo-jin's (Park Il-so) dad seems to have some connection with Hye-sun. I don't know what. I think I might have missed a couple of episodes during the changeover. At first, I thought Il-so did not like Sung-min because he had destroyed their family and felt guilt, but since seeing the fight in the golf club, it appears to me that Il-so destroyed Sung-min's family merely because he hated Sung-min for wanting to marry his daughter. This makes no sense to me so far, but I hope to figure it out eventually.
This is all I know, only being halfway through the episode from last Tuesday afternoon.

The lender wants to get revenge on Ilho too but why? He was uneasy when he saw her at the stockholders' meeting. It seems to me that he got hold of her shares of the brothers' family business, and they lost the business. Maybe she sold them to Ilho out of spite? After she believed that her son was given away? But then why does she want to get revenge on Ilho? Maybe he drove a hard bargain and wouldn't give her their full value because she was desperate?

I can't figure anything out, Ginnycat, LOL. Everyone seems to be hiding some desperate secrets, that's for sure. The only ones who DON't seem to have any secrets are Seo-yeong's parents. They're just who they appear to be, happily married, pampered but still kindly and good-hearted. Even her cousin is secretly in love with Yeo-jin.

Hi, I haven't seen that, so that was a spoiler, right?, can you delete it and write it in the spoiler thread, please? Some people mind spoilers more than other people. (You're not in Chicago, are you?)

D'oh! I thought you were in Chicago, Spicy, and thanks for that quick catch Ginny, I did not even get a chance to see it. I believe we'll be seeing episodes 13 and 14 this week in Chicago, isn't that so (Chicago people)?

It is confusing.Jung Woo is Hye Sun's son. Yes! Isn't it delicious how they are getting acquainted and like each other already? Jung-woo is softening her, and she is warily becoming friendly and able to smile. I like this development a lot!

Me too! I have watched some of the behind-the-scenes bits on KBC, and those three scenes with Sung-mi, Hye-sun and Jung-woo are almost making me cry already. I'm really curious as to see how it all works out.

i think Hyesun will make a good mom lol. i dunno if you guys noticed this but...you know the "mom" of Jung-woo? you know....the one who ran the KFC thing? does anyone else get annoyed when she keeps complaining and stuff? i mean seriously. now the only thing she does is complain and cry. it was ok before but i think that the directors of this drama are overdoing it now. i mean seriously. the drama is goin good. and then suddenly cut to the mom's room. and whadda ya know? she's crying!

Hm... I finished the show a while ago and don't remember the earlier episodes all that well, but I don't think I remember her as a character who cries excessively for no reason. She does cry from time to time but... Is it just my memory or what?

I only remember her crying after her husband told her that they lost the restaurant, and she was incensed that her hard work was down the drain, and he had not even consulted her. So it was tears from fury, and some part from hurt, that she came last in her husband's eyes, after his brother.

I thought she was perfectly justified in feeling like that. He just stole her money, so he could feel like a big brother. (She worked for years cleaning other peoples' houses so they could get their own business.) It was so high-handed and unfair. But she seemed to recover quickly and have a good attitude after awhile. I thought she had a right to wallow in it for a little while, and yell and all, though.
