I don't really watch this show, but I was checking the signal yesterday before I left work and it happened to be on. (A character named Sena and others were waiting to give a surprise party to a character named Sengue (sp), so that's how I know.) They all prettily yelled "seur-pris-a!" when the birthday boy showed up, and then they cut to him looking somewhat surprised, and then a voice offscreen, in CLEARLY unaccented English said, "Happy Birthday" (I think). I can't remember the exact words BUT it was clearly an American voice. I even thought to myself, "That sounds like an East Coast entrepreneur, from Portland maybe!" No idea why.
I checked other posts here, but maybe I missed someone else's shocked report?
So, did I hallucinate this?

NO! You didn't hallucinate, but I totally forgot about that until you mentioned it! I remember now thinking, like you, "Who or WHAT WAS THAT?" LOL. There were about 5 guests at that "big, fancy" party that took weeks to plan, and not one of them was a previously unaccounted-for American. BUT . . . you know Jinhui supposedly speaks English, though it's a little spooky when he does (like My Will in "Phoenix," they have an oddly casual and atonal way of speaking). Maybe it was Jinhui fooling around.

Well I heard it as well, pretty weird. well about this party, was that all about?! I thought the party was going to be at the club with a bunch of people? where exactly was the party (if you can even call it that). It was just weird, he shows up and there's only like 4 other people there and then they cut to him being home.

my guess is all the confusion is due to kbc's lousy editing.

Hah, maybe that stray voice was a KBC-USA staffer, placing an "easter egg"--LOL.

Yep, I heard it too, loud & clear. I even commented to my husband at the time (he heard it, too.) It was spoken in perfect English, but almost sounded dubbed in! Loud, but in the background (it definitely stood out). Actually, to me, that whole birthday-party scene was confusing and disjointed. Planning for weeks and only a handful of people show? What was the big plan? It was probably a scene we could have lived without. ----BTW, Bo, it's too bad you happened to get a glimpse of this drama at such an inopportune juncture. This silly scene is not really indicative of how interesting we have found this story so far. As you can tell from the activity on the board, there are quite a few post-ers who are definitely enjoying it. ....Now we're just holding our collective breaths, hoping that the FCC will heed our pleas for a power boost (and the sooner the better!) Safe and Healthy New Year, everyone.

It did sound like a voice-over! Every so often, I hear a few more English words spoken by the characters, but this sounded like it was mysteriously dubbed in I, too, thought that the birthday party came off much more dismal than all of the planning suggested I also wish that their "friends" would stop running such troublesome interference, so that they can make their marriage a much happier one. Sena's parents are very funny, as are their matching pajamas It's obvious that they really love and welcome their son-in-law too, as they so happily enjoyed having him over for breakfast

Did I mis-see, or was that Goeun-ah from WML standing on a bridge for some reason?

Did I mis-see, or was that Goeun-ah from WML standing on a bridge for some reason? Bo Goeun is in this, a thorn in everybody's eye now (except for Mrs. Han). She's Yun-su, part of the quadrangle of love. I'm sick of her already. Lots of angst here, but the drama has been well-recommended so I'm sticking with it for now, even tho it's on Wed. and Thurs., which I wanted to keep free for Lost and ?

Ginnycat I too wanted to keep wednesdays free for LOST. I am a huge fan, so I have my friend recording for me. If I'm here I'll record on another tv while I watch Wedding Bliss. Good thing LOST has been reruns these past couple of weeks

Yes, thanks idream. So, ginny, goeun is a "bad person"? How funny. Bo She isn't exactly bad, but she's selfish and insecure, also lonely. Well, she's getting to be a little bad-in her loneliness she's pursuing an old friendship with a married man, even tho it bothers the wife. The wife left the husband and Goeun/Yunsu invited herself to go to the US with the husband for 2 years!! The hussy. But she doesn't mean to be bad....
