Ahhhhh, the great dramatic themes--unrequited love, abandonment, loss! This is like a modern-day Romeo and Juliet. I hope that it doesn't end in a similar sad way. Andrea has finally awakened to his true feelings. I liked the scene where he admitted to his Mom that he abandoned Eunha; that abandonment is what his mother had taught him. His rage at her was so real--it's a scenario that many orphans play out in their minds--imaginary conversations with the dead parents "Why did you abandon me?" And Mom played the scene well, too. I'm not as hard on her as some are--we don't know her mental/emotional state when she gave up Andrea. If she was as in love with his father as is suggested by her relationship with her current husband, she may have been in a state of depression where she was non-functioning. Perhaps she felt that she was compelled to give him up for one reason or another. I believe that she's paid the price for her sin. After all, what can be worse than hearing the beloved son tell you to stay out of his life?

His rage at her was so real--it's a scenario that many orphans play out in their minds--imaginary conversations with the dead parents "Why did you abandon me?" This was a wonderful scene. All the lines that he said were beautifully written. Especially that line that you said about abondment. It's so true though. We keep asking ourselves why he insists on being a priest when it's so obvious that he loves Eunha and that it is not his true calling. I think Eunha said it best when she said a couple of episodes ago that if he hadn't chosen this path (to become a priest) he would have turned out really bad. So true, either you have a really strong sense of sympathy for other people, or you have a really strong sense of rage. It was such a breath of fresh air just watching them have a good time though. Aigu! I giggled when he held her hands, Eunha looked so nervous. Also, did you guys notice that the sweater set he bought her was very closely matching what he was wearing. What a difference--here Andrea buys her this inexpensive sweater and she's all smiles and when Woojin bought her that expensive suit she was really, really serious.

That statement of Eunha's that Andrea would have turned out bad was really incisive. I never thought of it that way. So the thing that's keeping him from her is what made him such a good person--it gave him his boundaries and his rules for being worthwhile and growing up to be something. And by the same token, obviously she always would love him no matter which way he went (bad or good) because of how and when he reached her, when she first came to the orphanage, but would her love have reached such a Juliet-like stage without the opposition? If she's known for years that she would eventually lose him, I'm sure that whipped her love up even further and added that tragic element. Combined with her other issues it's all turned out to be a big ball of renunciation, unrequitedness, and sadness for everyone concerned, because all three of them have similar issues.
It was so nice that they had those two days. I worry now because of what Andrea said at the end of the episode (to himself, I think)--surely God will give me Eunha now. *sniff* He seems happy and fulfilled now, but I worry that when he hears about Eunha's illness he is going to think it's a message from God that they are not meant to be together.
GC, I was also thinking that about the color of her sweater. It was so cute, like those honeymoon couples on the other dramas who wear matching outfits.

That sweater thing was so endearing, as was the shopping and fireworks/sparklers scene. All very romantic. My daughter said that it was the first time she had seen a genuine smile from Andrea in a long time. I don't think that he smiled like that since he ceased living with her when they were students. And I like the remark the Bishop made when Andrea said that he needed to get away. The priest said something like, "If the collar is too stuffy, take it off!" Now that's an understanding guy! He doesn't want the priesthood to be used as a place to hide out from the world, like he said, "We (I took it to mean priests/clergy)need to love more." What a good example of following the current Christian expression WWJD. (What would Jesus do?)

I LOVED THIS EPISODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love to see Andrea and Eunha spend time together. I'm so glad that Andrea finally confessed his true feelings to Eunha and told her that he loved her. You could just tell by the way he looked at her that his love for her is just so immense, ah makes me want to cry. I too feel bad about Andrea saying "surely God will let me have her now?" What if it doesn't work out that way? What if something bad happens to her? Or what if Eunha pushes him away because she does know that she's dying? After all, all she wanted from him was to spend time with him. I hope she doesn't reject him when he tells her that he wants to be with her. I've seen that in alot of movies, where someone is dying and they push the other person away because they don't want that person to suffer. Oh this is so sad, I really hope everything turns out fine, and that somehow Andrea and Woojin can perform a surgery on Eunha and save her.
I also thought it was nice of the nun to go to Eunha and tell her that Andrea ran away. Obviously the nun knows the feelings Andrea has for Eunha and was trying to help out. That was very nice of her.

hurrayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!! finally he open that big noggins of his and admitted of his love for Eunha. Thank you ha!, Sorry about that, I feel much better. ;D I was about to smack him , but I too feel that he will take it as a sign of god the fact that she was dying or he could tell himself he was a fool for not admitting his love for her and letting all this years pass when he could have been with her. I also think that they are both going to perform surgery on her. I don't know about the end but at least if she dies she know that Andrea loved her too late but he finally did. I have one question what's up with the matching of the shirts. My boyfriend and I used to do that when we were in high school but after you grow up is kind of cheesy! Do they do that a lot in Korea?

A lot of newleyweds do that. I guess they just started doing things couples would do, which means wearing matching shirts. Arent' Beckham and Posh Spice notorious for doing that too?
