Frankly, I'm tired by all of the lying. No one, and I mean no one is honest with one another. Hip Yuppie Boss is obviously interested in Jung-Eun or he wouldn't be trying to "bring her along" in the business by giving her responsible assignments and taking her to higher level business functions. Can't he just open his mouth and say, "I like you. I want to know you better?" Taking her to dinner by saying that he's hungry and doesn't want to eat alone--what a load of baloney!
Jung-Eun is no better when she lies to Kyung-Min about going to the movies. Granted, she is an emotionally fragile person who seems to have trouble defending herself when men are concerned, but why the lying? In her case, maybe she is so afraid of hearing the truth she'd rather concoct fantasy scenarios in her head. I think that she is ambivalent concerning Yuppie Boss, but she truly likes Kyung-Min. Why doesn't she just tell him? Is she afraid that he'll move out? Is it a "half a loaf is better than none" way of thinking?
And why does she like the guy? He puts her down, he lies to her, he used her? Where is the attraction? I just don't see it.
Kyung-Min is the worst of all. He's being abused by the other Miss Priss and he's doing the same thing to Jung-Eun. And he lives off of her good will and hard work. He is quite torn himself, on the one hand he says that he doesn't care, he treats her as if he doesn't care, but he seems unable to be honest enough with himself to see that he does care. For someone who is broke he sure spends money--movie tix, eating out, cab rides. He just seems like a user to me. Yeah, he has some enduring moments, but I think the guy needs a kick in the head to wake up. Is this a class thing? J is not good enough for him because of where shes at? Is this an "Uptown Guy--Downtown Girl" kind of thing? I just wish everyone would stop lying to one another all the time. It's just hard for me to be find chronic liars likeable.
