After Jae-min has dinner with In-young's father, and we briefly see In-young working while eating dinner, a VERY big scene was cut out. Ki-joon returns home, and Hee-joo confronts him about the ring she found ealier. They get into a big argument, during which Hee-joo flushes the ring down the toilet. Ok-jin comes in to see what all the noise is, and Ki-joon goes downstairs to have a couple of stiff drinks. Ok-jin tries to placate Hee-joo, but Hee-joo comes back with that smug superior attitude, where Ok-jin seems to not believe what she's hearing. Then back to what we saw, beginning with Jae-min and In-young's father arriving at the Yoo house. This stuff isn't like the old days, where scenes would be skipped over during commercials. These edits seem to be intended to shorten the running time, but given WOCH's bizzarro schedule, WHY? Just cut out those weird cartoon folk-tale things if they need more time. The edits also seem to be pretty seamlessly done, and I'd be surprised if ch28 had anyone on their staff with the talent to do that . So is KBS America doing it? And why? This scene with the ring was a major thing, and there were several minor scenes which could have been cut out instead, without an ill effects to the story. As we say, AIGU!

Wow, I totally forgot about that scene, and it was shown in the preview too.

What's up with all these missing scenes! Especially the scenes that are actually good to watch.

I have a theory. Maybe KBC and KBS want us to BUY the DVD. Do I smell a conspiracy

I saw the "KBS America" version on The Asia Network's satellite broadcast, and we got to see the ring scene complete and uncut (and yes, that WAS a very important scene)! I can't imagine what genius decided to eliminate that part from the Chicago broadcast. As for ch28's competence - well, maybe they're getting better with practice!

I did notice that the scene had been cut out (how could I forget an engagement ring going down the toilet), so I taped the morning broadcast today. I look forward to checking my tape tonight. Thanks, Soju, faithful reporter!

Thanks, Soju! Aunt mentions a quarrel, and SM tries to "fix it" with breakfast-that's it, except for their make-up lunch. I would have liked to see KJ's reaction to HJ's anger. Now I know why KJ tore up those photos.

My new conspiracy theory is EchoStar (the parent company of Dish Network) has purchased WOCH, and is deliberately screwing things up, to get us to subscribe to Dish Network

Well, I watched the tape of Tuesday's re-broadcast (of the epi we're talking about), and they did NOT show the missing ring scene or the fight then, either. So keep your eyes peeled during them previews, people, because that's the only time we're ever going to see certain scenes!

I can't believe Hee-joo flushed Ki-joon's wedding ring with In-young down the toilet. Wasn't it enough that Ki-joon hid it somewhere else? It wasn't like he was wearing it and throwing it in her face. I can understand Hee-joo's anger to see KJ still held on to that ring. But she could have just put it back where she found it. She didn't have to flush it down the toilet. There goes another sign of HJ being immature.

I'd have reset the stones into a necklace or ring for myself! But I guess being a very spoiled rich girl the worth of the diamonds didn't matter to her one bit.
I was coming on here to complain about the cut scene. It took me a minute to figure out the disconnect of "why are they making french toast?" Then I remember the scene in the previews showing the fight and her flushing the ring down the toilet and realized it had been cut.
What if we do a phone in campaign to kbc to ask why they're cutting scenes?

So keep your eyes peeled during them previews, people, because that's the only time we're ever going to see certain scenes! Well, you can register with KBS, and watch the VOD, as I've started doing. They don't have subtitles, so you still need to watch the WOCH broadcast to know the general story of the episode, and watch the VOD to fill in the blanks. You end up watching each episode twice this way. You may or may not find that a good thing OR, you could get a satellite dish and watch TAN-TV or KBS via DishNetwork, which seem more attractive every day.

Actually, I’m getting a little frustrated with TAN. When I signed up a year ago, they were regularly broadcasting four or five English-subtitled dramas. Now, though, they’re down to just TWO subtitled shows (“My Sweetheart” and “Immortal Yi Soon-shin”) or maybe THREE, depending on what fills the Mon/Tues timeslot next week. Oh yes, we also do get the KBS evening news with subtitles, which is interesting at times, but not anything I’d pay for.
Given that you Chicago folks are currently watching FIVE subtitled dramas - plus even a few oddball variety shows that also appear to be subtitled - I can’t help but feel a bit cheated. After all, I'm paying $28 monthly to enjoy TAN's good, but disappointingly limited, menu.
On the positive side, TAN does not edit their shows. I’m grateful for that. But honestly, Dish Network (now carrying KBS America) is starting to look better and better. If Dish Network ever adds AZN to their lineup as well, they’ll likely have themselves a new customer in Arizona.
