I noticed that SM's hair keeps changing, I mean the other women also have had different hairstyles too, but with SM I noticed it a little bit more. So far I'd say it's gone through 3 phases: 1st: SM's hairstyle was that of a rich prissy woman when KJ was trying to court IY and finally marrying her. We have yet to see what SM has in store for IY. 2nd: This time it was this big head of hair, almost like a crown, at this point she's totally in control of IY, having her go see the doctors, making IY taking medicines, and other stuff just to have a baby...I had joked in another thread that it looks like it's big enough to break a wooden board or two (something like that), but I was right, it did break something, it broke up KJ and IY's marriage. 3rd: The current hairstyle, it seems just tattered to me, it's all off to one side and just doesn't look neat anymore, not so high and mighty...it seems to fit because now she has HJ who's actually putting her down everytime she tries to confront her about something. The power she once had over IY seemed to have left her along with her high and mighty hairstyle now that HJ's in the house. Who knows, maybe by the end, we'll see a bald SM

I think they made her hair that to emphasize her frustration with her new daughter in law. but any time they make her look stupid is fine with me

((I've forgotten exactly how it was, tho. ) Corresponding to SM's crown hairdo, IY had a tight bun with no curls, not pretty, just out of the way. Very controlled and no attempt to make it pretty. When she left KJ's house, she let her hair loose with a slight curl. Very pretty and relaxed.

Who knows, maybe by the end, we'll see a bald SM Hahaha! That would be great! It would show how stressed out she was with her new DIL and the fact that she can't convince Hee-joo to have a baby right away.

SM drunk, then bewildered! I'm not taking as much pleasure in it as I expected, maybe because she is so clueless. She reminds me of a dog that has been scolded but doesn't understand why. -How can everyone not fall in with my plans?? I should be the ruler in my own house!- (but shouldn't a DIL be ruler of her own body?; not according to SM.) She lets it go in one ear and out the other. Hee-joo: "That's what YOU want, Mother. I'm going to wait to have a baby." HJ's mother: "The younger generation has their own ideas. Why be in a hurry?" Still, she has that puzzled look. (huh?) Then, (Where's the obedience I deserve?)

I don't know about you, but I think the reason I'm not enjoying it yet is because she's not SUFFERING ENOUGH! What I want to see is her realizing that she has only her own stupidity to blame: she should have treated In-young much, much better instead of treating her, first, like a horrible sinner (for daring to be Ki-joon's true love instead of the wealthy Hee-joo), then like a slave, and then like a brood mare. When she truly starts hating herself as much as I hate her, then I'll be happy. HA! I am such a bad person.

Darn it! I knew I was forgetting to record something today. I can't believe I missed a drunken MIL. Can anyone give a quick recap of what happened? Why did Hejoo feel that she needed an apology from mother?

KJ and HJ gets home from their dinner with her parents and find SM in the living room drunk. SM starts flapping her yap saying stuff like 'why doesn't HJ want a baby right now' and 'HJ is looking down on her'. The next day HJ goes over and ask SM to apologize because SM has overstep her boundries. HJ goes to explain to SM why she doesn't want to have a baby right away and that she's not looking down on SM (sorry, can't remember exactly what was said, I tend to make up my own lines with these two hags on scene), so SM, looking defeated, says that she won't ever say such words again...but she never did apologize.

Hee-joo really harped on how Mother shouldn't say things like that. She was treating her like an inferior (or at least an equal) rather than at least making a show of respecting her as a mother-in-law. OVD24, did you see when Hee-joo was up in the room afterward and was complaining to Ki-joon that everyone else should give HER some consideration, rather than her being nicer and more understanding to SM? And when Aunt reminded SM that she once locked IY out of the house for far less than HJ had done? Aunt was asking her, "what's happened to you?" I enjoyed SM being reminded of what a dragon lady she used to be and what a submissive puppy she's being now.
Actually, that's a pretty good simile, isn't it? SM was the top dog in the house before, and no one could say "boo" to her, but now that HJ is in the house, SM is just rolling over and showing her belly when confronted.
