Last night I turned on MS, and it wasn't on. But no one else here seems to have missed it. When did it air? I missed In-young rushing to HIMCHAN!'s recital, and Ki-joon seeing her in the street. Aigu! Someone enlighten me...

The Monday evening broadcast (ep 108) started early, about 5:45 it seems, and was missing about ten minutes, ending at about 6:05; we didn't see Ok-jin burn her hand. The re-airing Tuesday morning began at the normal time, but was still ten minutes short. This evening's show (ep 109) also ran about ten minutes short . This message appeared in a crawl during Monday morning's broadcast of ep 107; something about a tape defect? 테잎 상태 불량. 으로 인하여 점시 진행이 고르지 못하얐습나ㅈ다. 앙해하여 주시고 계속 많은 시청 바뫔니다. (If anyone could please translate this, I appologize for any transcription errors) Sigh. Some things never change, and channel 28's ineptitude is one of them

What's ten minutes here or there? If anything happened in the missing minutes, don't worry about it. I am pretty sure that the series will dwell on it for at least 20 episodes to really drive it home. I think the series is 150 episodes. As of last night, ep 109 here in Chicago, the series has to clean up its pacing problems and get on with the story telling.

Same thing happened to me, so I taped the morning repeat. Here's what happened:
In-chul and Dad meet at a restaurant to talk. In-chul says that he wants to open a food stand (at least that's what he seemed to be saying, but by the end of yesterday's episode, it had evolved into a restaurant). He says he is a good cook, and so he wants to provide snacks such as "rolls" (kimbap, I'm sure), noodles, and something else. He and dad talk it over, and then he asks if dad would be OK with his doing that, because having a son who sells snacks in the street might not be a father's dream, so to speak. Sweet Dad says, "you are doing what you are good at and you'll work hard, so I'm very proud of you." In-chul stands up, and in his patented fashion, yells to the populace in general, in quasi-military fashion: "DAD! I LOVE YOU!" Dad offers to help a little financially, but In-chul says he wants to do it all by himself. With his savings, his retirement nest egg, and his last paycheck, he has $10,000 to spend to start up his business. He is only going to do what he can and not wish for a bigger or more prestigious business than he can afford. Good for In-chul!
At the publishing house, In-young is checking final film (the last stage before it goes to the printer) and notices there is a problem. This is the day of HIMCHAN!'s talent show, BTW, and the film has to be at the printer that afternoon. She has to run to the production people with the faulty film, where she is told that, apparently, the data for that portion has been corrupted, so the film has to be remade, and she still has to make the printer's deadline. I'm not sure how much of this was shown on Monday vs Tuesday, but as Windsor says above, it was dwelt on in flashback (Ki-joon's flashback) at least 20 times. In-young is crossing a busy street with a bunch of films all rolled up precariously and a woman bumps into her hard and keeps walking. The films spill all over, and In-young is left in the crosswalk, picking up film, as the light changes and cars start honking and driving around her. Ki-joon happens to be in his car at the time and sees the whole thing. Admirably, he does not take this excuse to get out and help her but drives on, checking the rear-view mirror for about the next 3 minutes to make sure she's gotten out of the road to safety. He continues to dwell on this episode for the next two days, including during the dinner with Hee-joo's parents.
Kudos to Jenny for the new format of HIMCHAN!'s name.

Wow, Lucy, good recall! In real life, IY would have turned around and gone back to the film lab to check for scratches on the films after they fell all over the street. Or the book would have been imperfect from the start. I'm glad she saw HIMCHAN in his show, tho. It's an "awww" moment every time IY wipes HC's chin at a meal, for me, and for Jae-min.

Good call, ginnycat, but she was headed to the people who made the film when it fell, and they were seen examining the film together--plus they had to remake it anyway. You seem very detail-oriented--want a job?

You seem very detail-oriented--want a job? I thought she was rushing to deliver the film to the printer. I don't remember her leaving the office with an armload of stuff. She seemed to be jittering as the film shop was finding errors, as her time was running out, then I thought she was being the messenger for the printer. It could be the other way, tho. (I should pay so much attention to my own chores, no, it's still too hot. ) Thanks, but I'm not really looking, Lucy, but I AM a fusspot at times.

I agree. What in the "hay" is going on? I tape it, here in Chicago, at 6:00 PM, but often find that I've only seen the first 10 minutes before it goes off to another program. If I have time, I can watch it in the morning at 9:00 AM, but this isn't always possible.
How did crazy MIL burn her hand? Was it because HJ couldn't make dinner? It's pretty funny to see how crazy MIL is being jerked around by HJ, especially when HJ told her not to enter their room. After another few episodes, crazy MIL will be longing for the gentle, complacent IY to return.

In any case, they should have been in a mailing tube, or at least between two large sheets of cardboard, securely taped together.
After having missed nearly a half hour of the show over the past three eps, I finally took the plunge and registered on KBS's site. I had a marathon viewing session tonight, watching VOD's of eps 107-109, plus the normal video of tonight's, which seemed to be full length.
I know some folks here will think me a glutton for punishment for that ;D

Soju, are they subtitled? Oh, and is it free?

Not subtitled, but, yes, free. There are a LOT of required fields to fill out on the registration page They ask for a passport or Social Security number(!), but you can enter anything for that. Just go to english.kbs.co.kr/ and click on 'Register' at the upper left. Only the latest shows (past few weeks) have very high quality video. Since 'Sweetheart' is over with in Korea, they are all low-bandwidth video which doesn't look too good. I did watch a current show (don't know the name yet; it has 'Older Aunt' from WML in it), and found the video quality (via cable internet) quite good, rivaling what I see on ch28.

Kamsahamnida, Lucy-ssi (and everyone)! Aigu! I turn on the TV ten minutes late and I miss everything! But now the current shows make sense. HIMCHAN! reminds me of another Mike Meyers SNL sketch: Phillip, the little boy who's mom makes him wear a helmet and a harness at the playground. He was always yelling, too.

In any case, they should have been in a mailing tube, or at least between two large sheets of cardboard, securely taped together. In-young is so organized, she would have used a tote bag, a knapsack, or one of the gift-wrapping cloths at least. But then KJ wouldn't have had that haunting nightmare. Maybe this is one of those glitches we have to forgive for the sake of plot.

the show started about 20 minutes early. it did this a couple of weeks ago. i am checking everyday to see if it does this. Yeah, I turned it on (knowing I was a little late), and I saw the last 5 minutes. So now I turn on the TV at about 5:30 and just listen while I prep dinner or read a book or something b/c I don't like those silly infomercials.
