Regarding Korean rentals..
I'm very pleased with NETFLIX. This past weekend I watched 3-Iron ... which was shown at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival
The lead actress was one of the young women who plays in Who's My Love. It was such a different role and it was very enjoyable to see her range of talent. At first I didn't recognize her... but then, sure enough...there she was.
I digress... NETFLIX is neat because you can choose foreign/and whatever country you're intrested in.
I've enjoyed several films this way.

I just joined Netflix yesterday and put that Bae Yong-joon "dangerous liaisons" movie first in my queue. I didn't see anywhere to choose Korean movies in particular--I had to choose "Foreign" and then "Other Asian" and then guessed which ones were Korean. Did you find a better way? Was the actress in that movie Goeun (the wife of the handsome one)? I got a Korean magazine a couple of months ago and saw her picture in it (there was an article about her), so now I'm thinking maybe she was in there because she was promoting the movie. I also have every British TV show known to man in my queue, so I hope I can get to them all before my free trial ends. I don't know if I can keep up the membership once I have to start paying.

Under foreign... I key in Korean
no it wasn't Geoun .. and forgive my alleged mind here... it's Hana's roomate.. you know, HappyHouse wife.
When I first heard of Untold Scandal, I went on eBay and purchased it. It's so amazing how historical garb completely obliterates recognition. I downloaded a lovey picture of him from April Snow... which has gotten a lot of press and is very popular in Japan.
as of NETFLIX cost, I pay $11 per month... and I barely recognize the cost. But then when I was much younger and raising my family, that $11 could represent grocery money very easily.
Some of the Korea stories were pretty gritty but credible.

Thanks so much Goofy! I'm going to check around to see if there's a local store to rent some of those. I already have an on-line video rental but they don't have Korean dramas, b/c they are mostly family movies and educational shows (we got it for my kids), so I can't do netflix, but there must be a store somewhere in Chicago that rents them!
Looks like another excuse to go out for Korean food ...

There's a few rental shops on Lincoln Ave. One is about 5400 North, another is next to My Hometown Market, Lincoln at California Ave. There's at least one in the Korean section of Bryn Mwar Ave. (by Kimbal), and there are undoubtedly several on Lawrence Ave, west of Kedzie. Ditto for the vicinity of Golf Rd. and Milwaukee Ave. in Niles. Several Korean grocery stores have video rental sections; one I know does is Arirang Super, on Lawrence Ave just west of Pulaski Rd. As far as I know, none of the videos you can rent at these places is subtitled, unfortunately

I love Lincoln Avenue! My favorite places there are Morning Glory and Korean Books. I've also seen the Korean drama rental shop near the grocery store like Soju said.
