Ki-joon kept staring at IY's image thru his side-way mirror (I think that's what it's called?). I was scared that he was going to get into another car accident because he wasn't keeping his eyes on the road. That would have been something!

I wasn't referring to the fact that he didn't help her, that I understood, what I meant is that he never sticks to his guns when it comes to standing up to his mother and even when In-young lived with them he would let SM torture her and still to this day the SM tells him what to do. I wish he would give her an ultimatum.

I'm somewhat new to the series... so I don't know the whole picture. But... from what it seems... it's as if Kijoon's got it very badly. He's got a raving lunatic for a mom, he had to leave the woman he loved, the woman he loved picked up another man, he found out she was pregnant with his baby, forced into marriage with someone he doesn't love as much... that's a lot for even a man to juggle, and that doesn't even encompass the whole Kijoon story. I really do wonder if he'll commit suicide or something like that. I hope he doesn't... I really do like his character.

Ki-joon does has it bad. But sometimes I feel that he kind of brought it upon himself. He should have never let In-young go. He should have told her that they could work things out. He let her go with the thought that they would reconcile. But it broke his heart when he found out that she did not want to be with him anymore for good. She wanted to part ways and let him move on with someone else. As for his mother, she's out of control. But Ki-joon can't be a man and step up for himself. When he went and go drunk at the bar and caused a raucous, that was not helping him. He made himself act so immature and someone had to call Mommy at home to come get him. That's not showing SM that her son is a big boy. The longer KJ continues to act like that, the longer SM will be by his side nagging him.

IY wouldn't move away with KJ to another country because they would be alone and become unhappy. Maybe IY and KJ should have found a way to live with HER family. Then when SM wanted to see them, she would have to be in the midst of a normal loving family and wouldn't be able to get away with the dictatorial abusive stuff she kept pouring on IY. KJ has some money, he could pay for part of a new larger house.

I mean it's a great idea, but I can totally see the family saying, "No we're fine, we're happy with our little house and happy family, family is all we need..." YADA YADA YADA. And I know they'll feel bad about how SM would have to be the one coming to visit since it's her son that IY married.

If IY told the whole truth about what her MIL has been doing to her, her elders would all insist on coming to her rescue, wouldn't they? SM is so unreasonable, I can't imagine her father, aunt, and grandfather would insist on obedience to all SM's selfish bitter bossiness. They know what's proper, dignified, and respectful, and ScreechMom is none of that. SM borders on insane in her demands, so wouldn't IY's family defend her?

I have just had it with Ki-joon. He puts In-young in the position where she has to act like his mommy. He is such an unappealing character. I know he's supposed to be all tragic intensity and undying love, but it only comes across as selfishness, anger, and obsessiveness. I sure hope we're not supposed to think that In-young should go back to him because he "loves" her so much. If he loved her he would let her have a decent life. Yes, I understand that finding out what he found out last night is a gigantic shock and changes everything for him, but after a brief period of raging and ranting, he needs to get himself under control and do what is best for In-young and the baby, not necessarily what he wants. That guy puts way too much importance on his wants.
And by the way, while I totally understand In-young's sad monologue yesterday and sympathize with her--because really, she has too many troubles for one person to handle and nothing ever goes right for her in her love life--why didn't Sun-mi point out to her that she has one huge thing to be thankful for: Jae-min, who loves her like crazy and is bailing her out of this otherwise life-ruining situation! Without him, it could have been a much more horrible situation. She would definitely have had to run away to keep the secret of her baby, and Ki-joon would have stalked her until he found her and dragged her back, but this way she has someone to stand by her, help her raise the baby, etc. That makes up for a whole heck of a lot of trouble.

If Ki-joon had a happy marriage with Hee-joo, then In-young would be better off with Jae-min. She wouldn't want to be a homewrecker, as she seems to think she would be by letting KJ know about his impending fatherhood. As it is, feeling nagged and annoyed, Hee-joo should get a divorce and try for happiness with another man. KJ will never allow her into his heart.

I used to root for IY and KJ just because they were unfortunate to have EMIL to be around them. Both IY and KJ are both to blame for everything that happened to them because they didn't fight for their love for each other. They just let EMIL run their lives. Both are at fault:
IY"s fault: KJ wanted to move out before even bought an apartment for him and IY but IY didnt want to move out. Just before they got a divorce...KJ told IY not to go through the artificial insemination and say NO to EMIL but IY disobeyed KJ and still went for it. There are many more incidents I'm sure you guys can fill in.
KJ's Fault: Not being able to stand up to his EMIL and even IY eventhough he knows the situation. Forn agreeing on divorcing IY...they could've moved out and live far away from his mother. For marrying HJ, and now for acting so irational after finding out IY is pregnant.
On another note....I, myself is falling in love with JM. He's the sweetest, most caring person in that show. I used to not like him coz I've always wanted IY and KJ to end up together, but now I want JM to be with IY. He doesnt' deserve to get hurt by these two. Any thoughts from anone???

I agree with you on everything MzIveZ, but I say it's easier to forgive IY and her mistake for not taking up KJ's offer to leave earlier since she's going through so much crap right now, you feel sorry for her...but KJ on the other hand, I never liked him to begin with and now, he's still the same gutless character he's always been from the beginning, I also agree with Lucy with what she said about how his love is supposed to be intense and all that crap, but I don't see that at all, it's more like obsession and madness to me, THEM BE SOME CRAZY EYES MY FRIEND...EDITORS, TAKE HIM AWAY!!!!

I know this is just a soap opera, but my heart really is with Jae-min. He went through so much when he lost his wife, struggled to raise Him-chan, started a company, then found himself in love with In-young.
I get furious with Ki-joon who allowed his crazy mother to control his life from the start, probably before he married In-young. Because of his "devotion" to his mother, their marriage was destroyed. IY is pregnant because of a quick night with him, out of love. IY left him because of his mother's insane ambition to have a grandchild to show-off to her wealthy friends. KJ is to blame for everything, yet he blames IY for all his failures, not recognizing that he was the problem. IY just went on to lead a normal life without him, but he couldn't accept the fact that she might marry a very normal man.
The only thing I find fault with IY is that she doesn't level with JM. I mean, she caters to his son, but treats him with indifference, even lying to him after KJ takes her to the "river" to confront her about carrying his child. IY tells JM that she was with a "friend" while he's worried about her being with her ex. I think IY has to tell JM that she won't marry him, or tell KJ that she's thinking about returning to him. In reality, I think that KJ would get rid of Hee-joo immediately if he thought that IY would come back to him. HJ has problems with EMIL, as well with KJ who is never at home after work. HJ was arrogant enough to think that she could make KJ into a loving husband.
Maybe IY will return to KJ if he amicably agrees to divorce HJ. In the long run, IY and KJ will come together for the birth of their child while poor JM will be alone again.

I thought Ki-joon was going to have a heart attack or something by the way he was yelling at In-young. I was scared that he was going to hit her because he was just so angry. His eyes were bulging out of their sockets and that was quite scary. But he did have a right to be angry. The baby is his and IY's and he was so mad that IY wanted to keep that away from him. IY did that because she knows KJ has his own family to worry about.

I can't understand what IY sees in KJ now. I would think that, for her, the following things are associated with Ki-joon: drama, sadness, pain, fear, intense demands, and desperation. And the following would be associated with Jae-min: calm, support, a quiet, loving environment, understanding, and freedom to make her own choices. Why on earth does whatever KJ has trump what Jae-min is offering?

Why on earth does whatever KJ has trump what Jae-min is offering? Thanks for the summation, Lucy, so right! I would add that for KJ, there is a deep attraction to him still. (But if left alone, she could develop some deep feeling for JM, too.) Wouldn't KJ's main problem be solved if he told Hee-joo that IY is pregnant with his child? She'd leave him so FAST! Then he'd be single again. I think it's a close thing, which man IY prefers. Maybe 60% KJ, 40% JM. ??
