Has Screechy Mama turned a new leaf?

She seemed to be geniunely appreciative of all the attention to detail IY did when packing the toiletries for her. And she's been so polite to IY and "let" her go to her father's house while she was out of town.

Has she been reformed (a little bit; you can't expect 180 degrees overnight)?

I hope ScreechMom will be nice to In-young like that from now on. I can't imagine how it would be if SM would continue being so mean to IY after the miscarriage. It would be really mean! I couldn't bear to watch it if SM continued to be mean.

She bought IY a necklace, so maybe she does give a care in the world about her. I just hope she doesn't continue to get 'frustrated' over this whole pregnancy issue. In the fast-forward of today's episode, SM was back to her old self, commanding as ever... Maybe a little more subtle...

No, I think SM will be herself as she took In-young to a clinic to get more pregnancy medicine. She's only keeping her controlling, mean self in check because she wants In-young to become pregnant again as soon as possible. She wants to woo In-young into thinking that she cares for her because she doesn't want In-young to be under any stress.

If SM were really concerned about In-young, she'd tell her to just take care of herself and let nature take its' course with pregnancy. The way she ignores poor sister Ok-ja, who is enjoying being pregnant, shows a woman who doesn't think of anyone except herself. Why can't she be happy for Ok-ja? It's obvious because Ok-ja, in her later years, is pregnant while her DIL can't produce a grandchild for her.

If that were true, then why was she smiling to herself as she admired the pakcing job IY did for her after IY left the room?

I think SM does admire IY. But she still wants a grandchild more than ever so she's still going to push IY to take the pregnancy medication.

Isn't it funny how much better Ok-jin looks when she's being nice and not screwing up her face into mean, ugly expressions? When she's happy and not yelling at anyone she's actually quite cute. I guess that goes to show you why everyone tries to keep her happy--she's just too horrible otherwise. Unfortunately, a lifetime of being placated has made her harder than ever to please. Now it takes absolute obedience from everyone and everything going her way to keep her on an even keel. I do think, though, that In-young's long period of being nice to her despite everything has done a lot to change Screechy Mama's attitiude. She's never going to be a lovely and gracious person, but she's doing as well as can be expected through this miscarriage experience. At least she didn't immediately say, as IY's Aunt did, "WHY DIDN'T YOU TAKE BETTER CARE OF YOURSELF?" Oh, that was a great moment for Mrs. Hen.

I'm just sad that IY has to go through all that regulated stuff. Even KJ was feeling uncomfortable and said that he didn't like the fact that their relationship has turned into what the 'doctor says'. It's just sad... and painful..

It is so sad. Poor In-Young looks so depressed. It looks like her troubles are never going to be over. I can't even begin to fathom what it must be like for her going through all of this. It must be so trying, affecting her body and mind.

in-young needs to grow a backbone and put an end to all of this. nobody should tell you what to do with your own body.
