what's wrong with her? she really seems to dislike grandpa with a passion. i like her character, but i'm not sure why she has to behave so rudely towards the grandfather? he's so nice and adorable. lol

Yeah, I wish I had a grandpa like him, he's really cool and I like her too, but I guess she's too used to being alone and doing her own things, but with him around, I guess she feels that he's a burden or something.

I think she's feeling that she's lost some importance in that household. After all, she helped to raise her brother's children after their mother died. She's just used to being alone, doing things her way with no interruption. I think Grandfather is a great character, not troublesome or meddling in any way.
In a way, I think Grandfather really likes her, maybe would even think of marrying her. It's funny how they meddle over flowers and a pepper plant. I like her brother, In-young's father, who is mindful and intelligent in his opinions. What a contrast to Ki-joon's dysfunctional family!

Why is she called Mrs. Hen?

I remember In-Chul calling her that on an earlier episode.

Because she takes the family under her wing.

Oh, that's cute. Did they ever explain it, or is it just a good guess? I know sometimes the characters receive nicknames because of a joke on their real name or things like that.

In chul said she's like a hen because she took all of them under her wings to keep them warm and from harm and she wants them to stay there like a mother hen. He said it amid a lot of smiles and laughter from everyone else. He said it with love and respect in his voice. It was a very warm and loving scene with the family at table.

They are such a nice family. All the kids are good kids, although In-chul lacks judgment sometimes. The only discord is between Grandpa and Mrs. Hen. I agree with sandy above when she says there is potential there for a marriage between them. I don't know if that is something a Korean audience would see, but she resents him so much that I could see her eventually being charmed by him, and he by her.

Although I kind of understand her resentment. For ten years she was the head of the house, she was the eldest one there, next thing you know here comes Grandpa who seldom wrote or spoke to them and now he gets all the kids' love and attention and they fuss over him so much when she's the one that's been doing and keeps doing everybody's chores and housework. Hmph!

Oh, so do I! Plus, he's taking up space in her little garden, even after she made it clear she didn't like the idea. And he forced himself on her trip to the garden center. She seemed so put out by that, I wondered if she was planning to do something else and just used the trip for plants as an excuse. For someone to come back and be head of the household just because he's the eldest and the Grandpa must really rankle.

Poor gal probably just wanted to get AWAY from HIM. And there he goes tugging along. He's like that cousin who annoys the goop out of you but follows you everywhere.

lol gc! i mean, she's just fighting off being his friend so that she can once more claim the territory that belonged to her... i wish that in-young could take mrs. hen with her. she could then activate mrs. hen whenever screechy mom is about to cross the line and then mrs. hen can take in-young under her wing!

i liked when grandpa snapped at mrs. hen yesterday. he told HER not to water the plants. I see he's still taking the high road, but he's not going to go sitting down!
