Ki-joon always plays a son or grandson in a dysfunctional family. I didn't care for his character on OMR, either.

he's always too nice... mr. Seung-soo that is. I wish for once he would just dry up and play the mean guy... i mean it brought ms. hye-young (jae-hee/mi-ran) much fame.

Kim Seung-soo just has a nice face....like he's friendly. But so does Jung Hye-young (Jae-hee/Mi-ran). Yeah, KSS should play the mean guy in at least one drama because in all the other ones he played in so far (OMR, MS/MD, and Wife), he played as the quiet, kind, good guy.

Well, I don't think his character is all that nice = Ki joon was very close to Hee soo for many years and it was pretty much assumed by all parites that they would get engaged, she would return to the States to finish her education and when she returned they would marry. Then he goes to his HS reunion, meets up with In young who he has not seen or talked to in years and SUDDENLY he's in love. Then he doesn't even have the guts to tell Hee soo and his mother ... just sort of tries to weasel out by saying he's not sure he wants to spend his entire life with Hee soo ...then the whole scenario of him and In young breaking up because of his mother ... then his mother agreeing to the marriage because Baby Ki joon will die if he doesn't get his own way ... I really don't like his character ... he seems vain and selfish, especially knowing what In young will suffer because of his mother ... well, I guess anyone who had Screechy Mom for a mother would be selfish, nothing like example to set a child's way ... anyway, guess what I am saying is that this character is not nice in my opinion. He may not be EVIL like his mother ... but he is selfish and to me - that's not nice. Just my opinion.

He was a doctor. There was a romantic subplot where he was involved with a character played by Lee Yoo-ri, but she was suddenly written out of the show, and he married some 'cute' girl.

Yep, Kim Seung-soo played as a doctor. He was the younger brother of the man who lost his memory and thus was missing for about 7 years. I was so mad when KSS's character in Wife ended up marrying the "cute" girl....who was SO annoying by the way. I wanted him to end up with Lee Yoo-ri's (Mi-ryung from Yellow Handkerchief) character. Does anybody know why she was suddenly written out of the show?
Now that I think about it, Ki-joon is not nice all the time. What he did to Hee-joo was unacceptable....it's his fault that she's becoming a crazy stalker. But besides that, he just has a friendly face. I can't imagine him playing a bad guy role. I see him more as the good-guy/hero type.

Can anyone figure what this reference is from: #8 BURP, #8 BURP, #8 BURP GC, you're my hero for remembering this! I mentioned it in the WML thread, but I didn't realize you were the one who posted this. Just wanted to give you the credit. Ahh, classic Simpsons..... Oops! Back on topic, Hee-joo is so diluted. Ki-joon never loved her! If I were In-young I would have laughed at that line, and told her so. On another note, I love the fast pace of this show. One minute Sun-mi's telling everyone that their wedding is in a week, and the next scene is the wedding! Not like MPC, where we'd have to listen to 4 different people tell the same story scene after scene. It was painful to watch Jae-hee's mom hear a story, then retell it in its entirety to her coworkers. Owwwww, this drama still hurts me. It's like a sliver.

When they got that fruit basket from her tonight, I was expecting them to exclaim, "Oh, yes, it's from Hee-joo! Look at all the broken glass and razor blades in it!"
