I am in dire need of a recap of fridays and saturdays episodes. I tried to watch at work on this 10 year old, 13 inch black and white tv with a broken antenna, it didn't work lol.

You may have to wait until after Thanksgiving, my dear. Were you home for the holidays? I won't even have that tape until next week, and I'm about four weeks behind in my viewing--but I hope you have some luck before then!
Maybe people could contribute a sketch and others could fill in bits.

Younger Grandpa was sadly helping his wife pack to return to US to work and earn lots of money ($600,000??) in the next 5 years so they could retire comfortably. Grandma reminded them that the memorial sacrifice for Great Grandpa is in 2 days, can't Aunt wait to return?
Yoon-sik & Jiyeunand Hyun-sik & Goeun shopped for gifts for the elders (gloves) and had an end-of-year dinner at a restaurant. Sang-sik and Ha-na went skiing on their honeymoon where she ran into 5 male model friends and made Sang-sik jealous/unhappy with her casual camaradarie (sp?). Then Cho-hee came to their suite ($$$??) but Ho-sup couldn't come til later, and Sang-sik was kind of touchy-feely with her, angering Ha-na. Quilty came back from meeting Rocker's mother, who welcomed her, said she would buy all the furniture, and wants them to have an engagement ceremony.
That's all I remember, haven't seen Tues. morning yet. My Sat. tape didn't get it all because our power went off.

Aholada, also check the other threads that were recently added to. I know we talked about the meeting between Rocker and Quilty's moms. It was great--turns out they are old friends and meet often socially! So Rocker's mom spent a lot of time denigrating him and apologizing for him, and she got drunk and maudlin talking about her new "pretty daughter-in-law." Quilty's mom never heard about her bachelor son before because his mom didn't think he was worth talking about. He took it in stride, pretty much, because I think it's understood that parents are usually half-kidding when they talk trash about their kids. But everyone agreed later that it would have been very rude behavior from her for a first meeting between in-laws if the moms hadn't already known each other.
I don't know what Hana and Sangsik were doing skiing. I thought they weren't going to have a honeymoon? How did they end up there? I got confused between this and the "working honeymoon" on the other show "Wedded Bliss" this week.
Ji-yeun thinks she might be pregnant (one week--not enough time to take the test yet--man, is she in touch with her body or what?) and the only person she's told is Go-eun. She said it because Go-eun was so sad about her father and JY said she couldn't think of any way to comfort her so she shared some happy news. JY is not even going to tell Yoon-sik or anyone else for a while because of what happened last time.
Go-eun's father has taken a turn for the worse, and so her mom brought Joon back to the villa.
Relations between Hana and Ji-yeun are very tense. Hana keeps messing up because she won't listen well to instructions, and JY keeps calling her on the carpet in front of Go-eun. Hana tries to charm her way out of it, but it's not working, and she's getting upset with JY. At the end of Friday's ep, all three sisters were chopping radishes in JY's apartment after a blowup between the two of them, and Hana asked Go-eun in her little wheedling voice to get her a glass of water. (Which she should not do, as she's the youngest and low man on the totem pole.) There was a moment where everyone was wondering what GE would do, but she finally sided with JY and said, "the water is right there; you should get it yourself." I think it felt so good that, while Hana was up, GE said, "And bring me a glass, too." The two elder sisters bonded over that and JY told her she did the right thing. I guess it's everyone's responsibility to keep Hana in line.
Sorry this is so jumbled, but you know how the two weekend episodes tend to run together in your mind.

Also, Sang-sik didn't support Ha-na's rebellion and anger at Ji-yeun for scolding her. He's traditional and knows she's the youngest and should submit to JY's authority, and needs the lessons in housewifery.
Also, Younger grandma overheard the scolding and added her 2 cents in support of JY--(do you want to be put out of the house by Grandma in your bare feet?) Ha-na was somewhat chastened, but not crushed, by any means.

You couldn't crush Ha-na with a hydraulic press! Like the Energizer Bunny, she just keeps going.

You couldn't crush Ha-na with a hydraulic press! Like the Energizer Bunny, she just keeps going. ;D Right on the button . LOL ... she does need to be told about traditions and authority and respect. I don't think she means to be disrespectful ... she is so used to her relationship with Jy that is is hard for her to use honorifics etc. But although she is outrageous sometimes -- still makes me laugh. This is one of my all time favorite K-dramas ever. The love and warmth of this family is so wonderful to watch and it is so very instructive of Korean culture and the old vs new ways of thinking and doing. I am so glad it's being rerun - and believe me - that is something I RARELY ever say! ;D
