Amen to that! I wonder if he eats like that outside the home too? I'll have to observe him in future episodes. Yeah, didn't Hana remark on it when they went out on their "date"? The one when Hana thought she lost her wallet? While they ate dinner, she just kept staring at him, fascinated and repulsed. Bo

Hey, what's this "worse than Yoon-sik" business? Are you (GASP) criticizing my cuddly, bumbling, cheerful veterinarian friend who apologizes to the air for having naughty thoughts?? Perhaps you mean Hyun-sik. I hope so. Hmph. Nah, I meant Yoon-sik. You don't think he's somewhat of a prude? I guess that's the wrong word. Yoon-sik is really just extremely modest; only Sang-sik is truly a prude, so self-righteous and interested in the letter of the law. Oh, wait, I forgot--Homer whisper: Galacticchick and Jenny are prudes let's not talk about it! ;D Bo I see what you mean, but I always think that whatever girlish modesty and over-scrupulousness he has will disappear with experience. I think it's just that he's been so sheltered. He is a little prudish, yes. But look what a tiger he was in the hand-holding scene ! There's a lot of passion there waiting to come out, and he'll probably even out a bit in time.

lucy don't let my opinion of "SANG-SIK" and "grandma" influence you, I would give my reasons but they would be real spoilers.I did not think my opinion would be considered as established fact on whether or not the characters change or not, anyway mianhamnida lucy.

Don't worry about it, Toranaga! I don't know how to say "no problem" in Korean. BTW, what is the difference between mianhamnida and chesohamnida (I know that spelling has to be wrong), if there is one? Lucy

...Other than that, my favorite line from this drama is "Are my words dog's nose to you?" Hah, hah! Where did you hear that one? That is "a hilarious," as my brother-in-law is wont to say. Bo As I was watching my Saturday tape yesterday I remembered that I never answered this question. The "Are my word's dog's nose to you?" is a favorite expression used by head Grandpa. I guess it means along the lines of "Do my words mean nothing to you" but it is much more high-larious* this way, don't you think? *how Mr. Burns pronounces hilarious.

I think your interpretation is on the money (Hey! THAT's a first, LOL!) Bo

Unrelated, but the mention of Mr. Burns reminds me of one of my favorite Simpsons moments. I think it's at the Springfield Film Festival and everyone's booing Mr. Burns's film. Smithers comforts him with, "They were cheering! They were saying, 'Boo-urns!' "
but the kicker, from Hans Moleman, "I was saying "Boo-urns."

ROFL. My favorite Simpson's radio show Hans Moman with Moman In The Morning. Good Moman to you! ;D ;D ;D Ooh, our favorite Simpson's lines! (This is jenny, BTW. Too lazy to log and too busy to stay ) Some of my favorites comes from the Flanders kids: "Lies make baby Jesus cry" and "Ow! My freakin' ears!" I'm so happy their airing the older episodes lately, they seem so much funnier to me. Mod note - fixed quote because jenny bemourned it below. Bo

It's jenny again... D'oh! I messed up the quote. I like the new quote-in-quote feature but it makes it difficult to edit. I'm afraid I'll delete something crucial and have to start all over again.

What about Flanders' emergency babtizing kit esp. the air horn that plays Hallelujah. Too funny. You are right, the older episodes are funnier because they had better writers back then. I kind of don't watch the newer ones because their comedy isn't as smart as it used to be, they go for the cheap jokes.

It seems like they try too hard, and like you said, go for the cheap jokes. Speaking of the older eppys, the other day they aired the #8 *burp* episode! You just mentioned that here. Thanks for fixing my quote, Bo. I better just sign in from now on... EDIT: GC, you were the one who mentioned the #8 BURP! Sorry!
