duu, Have you heard back from KBS? If not, maybe you could call them. Let us know what's happening.

Is anyone here from Chicago? I have some friends from Minneapolis who went to H-Mart recently and found IYSS for $27. They said it was a pretty good copy. Here's a discussion about the store they went to: Korean drama seller at H-MartBo PS - sorry if I'm reposting known info, I don't have time to look back in thread.

Still have not recieve any word from KBS America. I don't know if this will help, but here's who I spoke with at KBS-America: Kris Lee 213 739 1111 (ask for him. A woman answered and she didn't speak English very well) It's best if you can give your ORDER # and/or AUTHNORIZATION # I first emailed him at: kjlee@kbs-america.com

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATHLEEN!!! Thanks for the info. Kris Lee seems to do all the e-mailing, but I've never called. I know the one page on the website had all that info, including the address. He seems to be very nice when he e-mails. Awhile back I had written to him (before I received IYSS) and" he wanted to know all about the IYSS fans and what the Korean drama fans want or need. We will listen." duu, Perhaps calling and/or e-mailing will get you the service you need. I will most likely have to go through mine and determine which ones need to be exchanged.I don't mean to sound bossy, but you deserve to be 100% satisfied because they were not cheap. ;D

TheBo, I'm from Pa., so I've never seen an H-Mart. I read the posts about Korean dramas at H-Mart and was stunned. It must be an awesome store! Good quality and great prices! Wow. :oIt's a shame they don't have a website, but at least there is a phone number. Thanks for sharing that. P.S. Got a kick out of the helicopter pic and jokes.

Thanks for the update, kathleen--it's good news and is more along the lines of what I would have expected to hear. The fact that they started an EOR service at all, and then expanded it to include entire series, I think it a pretty good indication that they do want to do a good job of serving their viewers. And that's VERY good news about not rigorously enforcing the 14-day rule posted on their site. That really is just not practical for large sets and when I order my IYSS set I'm going to ask them to change that rule formally.
This service is still new and obviously they're still working out some kinks, but I think they'll fix them eventually. Hopefully if we stick with them we can get them to expand the service! It would be great if they could offer peripheral stuff like posters and CDs associated with these shows (to the extent that such things exist) in addition to just DVDs. But one step at a time.
duu, please do let us know if you get a response from them. Wow you got through the series quickly! They should be glad that you did because you can give them quick feedback on discs with problems.

TheBo: I go to H mart every week (the one in Niles). I never looked for dramas on DVD because I'm too busy at the snack bar with jjajangmyun but if I get any info on it I'll be sure to let you know.

Kris Lee is a man of his word. Along with the new disc, I also received a jewel box and prepaid envelope to return to KBS America. So as a new business they certainly have a sense of customer service when dealing with my complaint. I probably will not watch it until the weekend ... so at this point I can only hope that the disc that was sent is blemish free. But again, Kris Lee came through and for that I give thanks.

happy ending like YSS I'm afraid not. This afternoon I loaded the new disc ... 'searched' for episode 6 ... and got the same hairbrained message! Good customer service intentions, lousy product. I did watch the 1st episode on Disc #3 (episode 7) and it was fine. I don't know about the rest of the disc. When I bought the boxed sets of Dae Jang Geum, every single disc was perfect. Just perfect. QUALITY is not KBS-America's middle name.

Oh no Kathleen!! That doesn't give me much hope for returning any of my flawed discs. Apparently they just sent you another one without checking it out first. If they would record them at a slower speed, there would be less chance of flaws and glitches. They must be trying to knock out so many copies as fast as possible, but it is compromising the quality. They knew beforehand that there would be a high demand, so they should have started recording them long before announcing that they were available.

I am so disappointed that KBS is not paying attention to quality. It only would take a little more care on their part. Sigh.

It may well be the DVD itself but this is worth a try. ;D BTW, have you tried playing the "faulty" DVD on another DVD player?
