Unfortunately, Korean IYSS fans are obliged to view successive defeats of Chosun troops this weekend. If they're defeats at sea then I refuse to watch it. These dramatists shouldn't distort facts.

The following two episodes concern the early stage of the war until the battle of Tangeumdae. The Admiral is not yet on his way. And..., you know, we have the problem of our little piggy (Won Kyun).

And..., you know, we have the problem of our little piggy (Won Kyun). Little piggy? LOL!!! By the way, I saw episode 56 and do you know what was written before we see Konishi and Kiyomasa start their attack on the peaceful village. Was it a warning of the extreme violence?

By the way, I saw episode 56 and do you know what was written before we see Konishi and Kiyomasa start their attack on the peaceful village. Was it a warning of the extreme violence? I finally viewed episode 56 (skipping over Eps. 54-55). The written narration is about Na Dae-Yong (the engineer of the Turtle Ship), about the tradition of Korean navy and about a destroyer and submarines denominated from the names of YSS and his subordinates. In the next scene, Wakizaka and Konishi leading the van of the Japanese troops arrive at Busan on the 13th April 1592. And... to be continued !

Choko, why do Ninjas bully Gweon-joon (aka Kwon Jun) ? Yes, he is very cute. Your picture makes me nickname him "the Puppy" ! He is one of my favorite characters. ;D Ok, I'll see episodes 54-55 (and ep.56 again).

hello forum,
I just got hooked on to YSS drama for the last 2 months.. and not even a Korean.. it's good...
Question: can I get those episodes else where... Korean video stores/rentals? or it is on TV weekly only?
thank!

Ngo Quyen is the Vietnamese king who defeated the Chinese in ~936A.D. in an ingenous sea battle. That battle had won Vietnam of her independence... so it's very fun to follow the YSS series... I am sure Koreans hold much admiration for such a historical leader..such as YSS.

In an article in today's NYT about the Dokdo dispute, they mentioned the show because is was about a "Unified Korea being threatened by Japan", and that this show is very popular in Korea.
The NYT keeps missing the boat, though, by ignoring how popular YSS, and K-dramas in general, are in the United States.
