Lol, Hey Bo, you know the historical dates for Dae jang geum and Damo? Aren't they also historical drama? About DJS, could I steal the answer of Bo ? Two month ago, I dressed timelines of historical dramas. deiner.proboards18.com/index.cgi?board=AdmiralYi&action=display&thread=1105381652This is a revised version of the old one. "The Women of the Palace ? (Yeo-In-Chun-Ha)" covers the period 1517-1565. "The Great Jang-Geum" is situated in the reign of king Jung-Jong (1506-1544) and "The Immortal YSS" between 1555-1598. 1506 : Advent of king Jung-Jong 1511 : Birth of Yi Jeong, father of Admiral Yi Soon-Shin 1517 : Marriage of the king with his 3rd spouse, queen Mun-Jeong (The Great Jang-Geum Period ) 1540 : Birth of Won Kyun 1542 : Birth of Yu Sung-Ryong 1544 : Death of king Jung-Jong ; Advent of king In-Jong 1545 : Death of king In-Jong ; Advent of king Myung-Jong, son of queen Mun-Jeong ; Birth of Admiral YSS 1564 : Marriage of admiral YSS 1565 : Death of queen Mun-Jeong 1567 : Death of king Myung-Jeong without heir ; Advent of king Seon-Jo 1576 : YSS began his military career 1592 : Imjin War (-1598) 1598 : Death of Admiral YSS I didn't watch Damo, so I have no idea of it. Bo, where are you?

I didn't watch Damo, so I have no idea of it. Bo, where are you? I'm in Chicago, silly. You know, I don't know when Damo took place. I'm pretty sure a couple of people put up a possible time line (because, of course, the story is entirely fictional, but "based on historical events"), so I'm sure there are a couple of lists in there somewhere. Florel, I like to get credit for my ideas, but in this case, it was Moreshige's timeline we were talking about. Or, wait, you mean you are answering for me. Well, that's great, because I'm still confused about the time lines; trying to figure it out, but just not there yet. Mostly because all the kings seem to blend for me. What is "Turtle Ship Scandal"? Is that another novel? Bo

Thanks for the information. I had guessed they were depicting pirates or brigands here because some of the warriors cover their faces before they attack. My wife is a big Kim Gap Soo fan so she's taping this series even though there are no subtitles on the Ch 17 showing in NYC. They cover their faces because they're assasins.

Elucidate, 7S! I'm trying to think ways to make the YSS board to be more lively. What is it you think was missing? What is different about this thread? Elucidate?! Excellent use of the vernacular my friend! I love this site. ;D This statement may seem a bit presumptive (and it probably is), but I will write it anyway. What I was referring to is the significant degree in which dialogue is taking place between Koreans on Korean issues. From what I have seen, in most of the threads this component tends to be novelty rather than the norm. I will try to watch with a critical eye in the future Bo. Thus far I have primarily adopted an enjoyment only policy with regard to CKD Fanclub. Enjoying life at deiner.proboards18, baby .

...What I was referring to is the significant degree in which dialogue is taking place between Koreans on Korean issues. From what I have seen, in most of the threads this component tends to be novelty rather than the norm. So, you are saying (if I read you correctly) that on this particular thread, there are a lot of Koreans talking with each other and to us about Korean historical issues. Hmm? And you like that. ...Enjoying life at deiner.proboards18, baby. Have a martini and chill, lad.

My wife is a big Kim Gap Soo fan so she's taping this series even though there are no subtitles on the Ch 17 showing in NYC. You let me remind of my painful days when I tried to view a Chinese historical drama without Korean subtitles. I wish this KBS english site would be interesting for you and your wife. contents.kbs.co.kr/program/program_dview.php?contentsUid=49Hae-Shin is more fictionalized than IYSS, because lots of historical materials are lacking on this period. But the storytelling is better than IYSS because it's based on a reliable novel written by a famous Korean writer, Choi In-ho. I just read only one of his novels, Lost Kingdom, in 80's. I remember yet I liked it very much. www.shinwonagency.co.kr/eng/booksee2.asp?ke_idx=162(about the original novel, Hae-Shin) english.kbs.co.kr/society/interview/1338606_11775.html(interview with the author)

Yes Bo, that is what I meant to say. That aspect of this thread has little or nothing to do with the design of this website itself. It may be an absurd statement, hence my obtuse demeanor in responding to your inquiry. Please don't be offended if it doesn't carry any weight. Have a martini and chill, lad. Thank you Miss! Don't mind if I do! Although, I am more of a milk and cookies type of guy. ;D
