Korean swords looked similar to the Japanese Kitanas. When was the first Kitana sword introduce in Korean history?

And I'll add another weapons question. (You know, IAPD, this should probably be a "tangent" thread--I think I'll move it.)
My question is, why didn't the barbarians make their own arrows and bows? Was the technology so complicated? After all, native Americans and even ancient stone-age people had them, and they were not big on technology.
I remember on Damo, the bandits were having trouble making guns because they could not forge the metal cleanly enough. Is it something like that?

I don't know the actual history, but wouldn't it make more sense to conclude that Korean swords originally went to Japan (probably hundreds years before the imjin war of YSS) and then refined into those fine quality Japanese swords over centuries?

There is little similarity between Japanese Katanas and Korean Swords. The Koreans used the same weapons that the Chinese used. {at least it looks the same}

i found interesting articles (in english) about korean sword and swordmanship. ourworld.cs.com/kuksoolcl/koreanswordsmanship.htmwww.concentric.net/~sdseong/kmar.vid.sw.htmAnd about the question of Bo(w) It's a historical fact that the Jurchen nomads were armed with Korean bows and arrows they had stolen when they attacked the Nokdun (Nok Dune) Island. Traditionally, Koreans have used very special powerful bow (horn bow) and arrow (pyeon-jeon aka baby arrow). The Korean people have been famous as good archers from the Antiquity (up to now at Olympic games) and bows and arrows are the most important weapons in ancient Korea. Evidently, the Jurchen wanted to obtain high quality bows and arrows. A bonus info about Korean traditional archery : www.koreanarchery.org/

Votre francais est excellent, ouvr. J'habite a Paris.

Tres hilarious! I can even understand most of that! Bon nuit, Lune. Things are always more elegant in French.
Speaking of language, I like the way Korean sounds. I am noticing at my apartment building (near a university, so there are lots of overseas students) that the Chinese spoken seems so much more gutteral than the Korean. Of course, the speaker is always important to the beauty of the sounds, but on the TV shows and in my building, Korean just sounds so lilting. Rather like an Irish accent on English.
