Does anybody watch the Immortal Yi Soon Shin? I thought I saw Sanghyuks dad on that show as one of the ministers of the King. I could almost swear it was him.

wow... I DO watch YiSoonShin... and will look closer at those minister guys... with all that garb on it's very hard to recognize someone from the 21st Century...
that's how it is with Untold Scandal... BYJ (JoonSang) plays a ery different role and if I didn't know it was him, I wouldn't have recognized him.

I got a copy of Untold Scandal from ebay. It was about $5 plus $6 shipping. I ordered it just the other day, and it came today. Very fast service. It comes out of Vancouver. I found it by doing a search for Bae Yong Jun. These are new, not used, and are in Korean with English subtitles. I have only peeked at it so far. I think I recognized BYJ's voice, but if I didn't know who it was I wouldn't have recognized him either.;

I've watched maybe 2 episodes of Yi Soon Shin, but I recognized him. He is one of the ministers that doesn't like YiSoonShin. I know there are two types of ministers, the Easterners and the Westerners, well he belongs to the group that is considered evil.

Thank you Alexa... I will watch very carefully for the evil minister/loving father
and Lucy, I did not rent Untold Scandal... I bought it on eBay for a little over $10.00. At first I thought... yikes... that price can't be right (based on YesAsia DVDs) ... but then of course I realized it was perhaps only 2 hours in length as compared to 58 hours.

Thanks, Kathleen and chi8. Maybe I'll get lucky, too. About Sang-hyuk's dad, I don't watch the show, but I read recently that he was one of Korea's leading TV (or maybe it was film, too) actors in the 1970s/80s. So it's probably not surprising that he's getting a lot of work as an older man, too. I know I sure liked him in his WLS role. He did a great job in his underplayed portrayal of some pretty strong emotions. I think his best scene in WLS was when he told JS he was his father, but he was also affecting in the parts when he sees the man he thinks is JS again after 10 years (and of course, it is, but he doesn't know that).

I remember him in the very first drama I've seen way back in 1992 in "Dawn of the Pupil" I believe if I remember correctly, he played a Japanese military officer who played opposite a leading famous actor named Park Sang Won (sp?) .
