Why France as an educational destination for the characters? Is France seen as a desirable destination to study? I can understand Cherin wanting to study there because of fashion, even though Italy (Milan) is closing in on Paris quickly as the fashion capital to be reckoned with. Do Korean people study and speak French in serious numbers? I know that in the past French was spoken all over the east, by the upper middle class and the intellectuals but what about today? Merci! Au demain!

I've wondered about this, too. Didn't one of the characters in "Bodyguard" also go to France to study fashion? And the movie "Tell Me Something" also involves characters going to France to live/study or something.

Do Korean people speak and study French? I would think they would have to. If you study abroad, you are exposed to the cultures and language of the country you are in.

Architects get paid well, especially when in the drama you see Joonsang and Yujin working on a huge project like a ski resort. That's why I might consider a career in architecture myself.

I can't build or buy such a beautiful place, but I can always dream about it If you think about it, dreams are sometimes a great form of architecture.

I accidentally fall into this thread. And I find an interesting word. "France", yeah.
I did't know that Bo summoned me. I rarely visit other threads than YSS or AOW stuffs.
France is a good place to study. The education in public schools is free. All universities are national institutions. I guess the architecture school is national and offers the free education. On the other hand, private schools are very expensive. I don't know well about fashion schools. I think they are private.
Lots of Korean students come to Paris because it's a cultural center (plastic arts, architecture, cinema, music, cuisine etc.). I heard that there are more than 10,000 Korean students and residents in Paris (or in France). But Korean francophones are in the minority in Korea.
