I actually had a question about that memory but forgot to ask it. It seems like Joonsang doesn't really know what it means or something, because when Yujin was asking him if he remembered anything, he didn't mention his putting her shoes back on when they first met and he helped her hop over the wall at school. In fact, Yujin should've mentioned that b/c it was the day they first met and therefore a seminal moment in their relationship.
But then again, if they'd talked about the memory he did have, there'd be no reason for him to run off and get hit by a bus.

WLS was originally intended to be 16-18 episodes long but after receiving high ratings back in Korea KBS pressured the production team to lengthen it - it's terrible and another malaise that hinders overall improvement of the quality, I know.
Anyway those who find it a bit draggy in the middle, here's your reason
WhenI downloaded it I realized per episode was 64-66 minutes long in average...! Maybe I'm watching the completely un-edited version but it just seemed too much. With one episode nearing 70 minutes everytime I'm sure Chicago28 has no trouble editing into 6 more episodes.
How long is WLS of Chicago version per episode anyway? I'm quite positive it's not longer than 50 minutes.
I think per episode has become too long because sometimes it's just too hard to make it a perfect timing and match the tight deadline at the same time. Two episodes every week really drivies the actors and the whole production team nuts.
In Korea it's quite common for actors or actresses to have months of rest after a single drama because sometimes your schedule becomes so tight that you can't take even take a shower for weeks.
"I miss my mother" (So Ji-sup, Sorry, I love You ) "I couldn't even wash properly, I thought I was going to die inundated by makeup". (Kim Jeung-eun, Lovers in Paris") "It was like training in the army for past 7 months" (Ji Jin-hee from DaeJangGeum)
Obviously my episode 18 could be somebody else's episode 20.
p.s. a little behind story of DJG: There was some dragging in the middle of the series and so, the triangular romance between Jin Jin-hee, DJG and the king got pushed away further.
When the episode finally reached that stage Lee Young-ae (DJG) argued that she agreed on only 50 episodes and she's burnt out as well as DJG staff. After all, actors and actresses don't have much to gain, it's the advertisers and the MBC that do.
The president of MBC reportedly "begged" Lee and so she finally agreed on just few more episodes. I'm just sorry for the actor Lim Ho (the king) who didn't get the fair share of the spotlight because of this.

Well I just saw this episode last night. Oh man, I was so happy when Yujin finally realized that Minhyung is in fact Joonsang. And I'm so glad that she finally had the guts to stand up for herself, and say that she is not leaving Minhyung's side. Even standing up to her mother and to Minhyung's mother. I'm assuming that since she doesn't plan on ever leaving Minhyung/Joonsang again, the wedding is off.
And I think of all people in the drama, Junga is the one that understands Yujin. I guess she would be the only one not to judge her for leaving Sanghyuk. Even before Junga had any idea that Minhyung was Yujins first love, she was encouraging Yujin to go meet him at the airport. I would love to see Junga find someone too.
As for the length of the drama. I have a question, they are not adding any new episodes are they? Is the reason that the length is 26 episodes because they are showing it in its entirety? So does that mean that they are not editing the episodes that are shown on Fridays and Saturdays.

Alanna, thanks for your explanation of the situation behind the dramas. I think the reason WLS does not seem so badly "stretched" as DJG did is because they only added two episodes instead of--what was it? 15?--to DJG. No bathing! Poor things. They should get a union.
But. Everyone here should know that when we talk about there being 26 episodes instead of 20, it's not that they made six more episodes--it's that the same 20 episodes, which are about 70 or 80 minutes each, have been re-edited into 26 episodes of 45 to 60 minutes each by the local TV stations and/or distributor for airing in the US. (I usually count 50.) This gives them room for commercials, but they are still airing every bit of the original show.
Alexa, I, too, really love the character of Junga. She's so refreshingly NORMAL and relatively liberated compared with the other women.

That's why the episodes end in weird places and rather abruptly, so that when the next "episode" (really, the next 50-or-so-minutes time-chunk of storyline) begins, it's sometimes right in the middle of the same scene where it left off.

Well that's not bad. At least they're showing us the whole story instead of cutting out parts. I wish they would've done that for Damo

ALANA, thanks so much for such interesting details. Man, they ARE wonderful actors if they're just running on adrenalin ...just keep piling on that makeup and keep the cameras running.
The filming is such a part of what makes these dramas so appealing.
Your information is treasured!

Me too, too. Sometimes I am just bursting after watching an episode, especially after the Saturday one and have to wait a week to see what happens. I do know the ending, but it did not spoil it for me. I still look forward to watching every minute of it. Too bad there isn't a coffee shop, lounge or something that everyone can meet.

Isn't there a spoiler thread? Why don't y'all get your jollies up there instead of teasing us poor saps?

But don't you see spoilers thread is just too small to invite everyone in?
When we get to discuss the endings, we want opinions of as many people as possible so that we can end up with even more interesting comments. (uh...right Bo..?)
If I start blurting in spoilers' thread I'd have to repeat the same old thing when others start discussing and that's a not really appealing. (Personally I'm already doing a bit of that trying to speak out for Sang-hyuk and rest of the crew opposed to Yujin-JoonSang's love).

I think Alanna and I have been quite good about not teasing anyone. We just made that one comment to each other. I don't like spoiler threads. I don't visit them, even if I know the ending. Bo

I watched the final two episodes on the DVD set this weekend, so know how everthing unfolds now. But I'll look forward to discussing it after it completes it's run on channel 28. I enjoyed the series and the acting, although poor Yujin seems to be crying throughout most of it
