I got my WLS Official sound track today from annyoung.com and it's so nice! I wish I hadn't recorded over the first episodes when Michael had translated what the My Memory song meant. I highly recommend it. You should be careful that you purchase the original soundtrack and not the Orgyle soundtrack though, turns out that it's some type of instrument.

I agree - the music is so lovely....and even though the songs are repeated, they're done so differently that it's o.k. I scanned the pictures to a Folder for a Slideshow, tweaked them a little, and now I have pics to go along with the CD. I did the same with DJG. Well worth the time spent!! ;D

The one thing that disapointed me about the OST was that it lacks the particular arrangemnt of the main theme that I like the most, where they substitute two sets of triplets for a quarter note and one set. My grade school band days are far gone now, but I think that's the right terminology.
There was also a version of the OST that came with sheet music of several of the themes. I don't know if that would still be available.

My grade school band days are far gone now, but I think that's the right terminology. I have no idea, that's why I took chorus instead. All I know is that I like the soundtrack. I like the whole thing but especially the opening theme song, My Memory and then the one that has a victorian sounding piano-but-not-a-piano-except-I-can't-remember-the-name-of the-instrument-just-now music. There was also a version of the OST that came with sheet music of several of the themes. I don't know if that would still be available. I can't remember if I saw it on yesasia or at annyoung, but I know the one you are talking about. One of these two must have it because I came across it while looking for the soundtrack. But again, no musical talent to back this purchase up with.

The instrument is a Harpsichord. Remember Ted Cassidy as Lurch in "The Addams Family"? That was his axe (so to speak ). Anyway, the OST is great. After the first run ended, I used to listen to it constantly and reminisce.

The instrument is a Harpsichord. That's the one! ;D For some reason I kept thinking about the vitrola (not sure if I spelled it right).

GC, you talking about a Victrola? That's an early record player, the one that's a turntable on a wooden box and the big speaker-horn on top.
This OST that comes with the sheet music: is that arranged for piano? I might be interested in that. I'm confused though, by the statement that there are two versions of the soundtrack; which is the one that *doesn't* have the music as it is heard on the show--the one that comes with the sheet music? Also, does the OST come with lyrics? And does the OST *not* have the main theme in its familiar arrangement? I only want to have the music on CD if it's the same as on the show.
thanks! :-)

I don't know about the "Orgyle" soundtrack, But the OST was released in a standard version and a 'deluxe' one with piano sheet music. At the time, the Korean Book Store on Lincoln Ave. had both, so I waited a day to decide which (the deluxe version was naturally more expensive). When I returned the next day, the deluxe version had been sold, so my decision was made for me

Neat, thanks, Soju. I'll look for the "deluxe" version if I decide to get it. I'm really surprising myself by buying these OSTs; generally, I don't like that sort of soft-pop music with the romantic singing. But after hearing a theme song twice a week (more, with all its various uses in the show), it really grows on ya. And I'm interested in playing that song that Joonsang played on the piano.

Hi, cannedcats! No, I didn't see a message from you.* Actually, I ordered the "deluxe" edition with assistance from Yesasia the other day (the one with sheet music). But I'm not too confident that it's what I want. It was suspiciously inexpensive for what is supposedly included. When it arrives, can I check back with you and compare the song lists? That business with the maps and all sounds really promising! Thanks so much for helping. Lucy *P.S. Silly me, I just saw and replied to your message. Thanks!

;D I got mine off of e-Bay from some guy in Hong Kong with shipping from New Jersey (go figure). I just keyed in "Korean TV Drama OST" and got a bunch of stuff I had to sift thru 'til I got the right one. Make sure you get the KBS OST - it has all the pieces from the series..... plus pictures and maps of the site....totally sweet
