Hi, guys. I'm a Korean hs student in NY, and I've occasionally browsed through the site, and I've posted some comments here and there. I think one of the great things this series has done for me is that it's made me much more interested in my parents' country's history, and I've become determined to spread my Korean pride to others. So, I'm asking for your help. I'm entering a history contest, where you basically do an exhibit about a person, event, or idea that took a stand in history. I'm doing it on...who else?...Yi Soon Shin. I've got some great sources, but I was wondering if you guys would be willing and kind enough to share any excellent books, websites, primary documents, etc. on Yi Soon Shin and the Imjin War (if you can, it'd be much more preferable if it was solely based on the former, but the latter is fine). Thank you guys SSSSOOOO MUCH! It means a lot to me!

Yeah, I do know about them, and I actually checked them out at the NYPL at 42nd St. I was wondering if you knew of any secondary sources by any historians.

How cool, a project on YSS. If I ever have to write a report on someone who has inspired me, or a hero, I am definetely doing it on YSS

The books are "Samurai Invasions" by Stephen Turnbull and "The Imjin War" by Hawley. Hawley's book won't come out until early next year unless I'm mistaken.

And kid---you're no dummy but a credit to your parents and community! Like I tell my own kid, the world puts people down enough, Never put yourself down. Our beloved Admiral understood that words have power! Create and use a powerful sign-in. Best of luck with your project!

I'm probably one of the few people in North America who has the book "The Imjin War"
I'm going to write a full review of it and share it with the forums I usually go to.
