DO you know how much of an oxymoron this statement is? Not to offend you or anything. Just want to teach you something about religion history. Christianity and islamic belief had its up bringing on a cult system, before fully being accepted. Both christianity and islam moved away from the original founding jewish faith system. (Judaism) lighten up, Pati ;D Uhh...guys, let's all relax a bit...the "cult" thing was a joke, that i thought seemed "appropriate", at least in context. But again -- it's a joke...let's not step into territory where we're arguing over words that have different meaning to different people (like for me & many of us here, when we mean cult, we mean a group of people so into some belief that they throw out all reason, and are usually under the spell of a manipulative leader, who is usually leading the cult for his own ego, and not to truly help his people). Ok...now i'm preaching...can we close that part and continue talking about the party? Thanks!

Thanks for the link to the photos, Chigirl! They came out nice, but I have to admit that my striped shirt makes me look about 50lbs heavier Next time, I'll wear a dark mock-turtleneck Not at all, MrB! You look just fine! It looks like everyone had a great time, I'm sorry I missed it!

I'm so bummed that I missed it! I really would have liked to meet you all. I hope that there will be another get together soon, although that doosen't seem too likely, with no new historical drama in sight and the lukewarm response Farwell to Tears is getting.

Well I think it'd he pretty cool if we had a Chicago K-Drama Fan Club get together. Not to watch an episode of one of the dramas, but a get together to hang out and get to meet the other people on the board. It'd be fun to have alot of people from the board come, whether they watch the historical or the modern dramas. We can even order Korean food (we can all pitch in to pay for it).

I think this is a great idea.

SUCH a good idea, Alexa! And perhaps we could all bring our various books that we've ordered as a result of this board and THOSE stories.
I'm ordering a bookcase exclusively for my Korean stuff... books, DVDs. CDs... it will be my KoreanKorner.... I digress... it just might be fun to vew each other's Korean treasures so that our knowledge can be enhanced.

Does your Korean corner have a huge poster of Bae Yong Joon (sp?) anyways I'm thinking we can do it after the holidays, and maybe asking KyungDaeDoo about using his church again, since he has ALOT of space and he did say we can use it for gatherings. So KDD if you're reading this let us know what you think, your opinions. And everybody else feel free to write down your thoughts. I'm just throwing ideas out there.

I feel that it highlights one of the beautiful things about this forum. People from all different backgrounds have come together and gotten to know one another here thanks to the draw of Korea, it's arts, history and culture.
It looks as if you guys do the series finale's the right way out there in Chicago.
Nicely done!
