This episode reminded me of the Lord of the Rings:The Two Tower, especially when the Japanese were trying to climb over the fort. This was such an awesome episode and whats even more amazing is that it's based on true events. My eyes were getting teary as the Commander was telling the women, children and the elderly to evacuate the city, and then when the women come back to help out the men, that was a very touching scene. They were all just so brave.
Oh and did anybody see that Commander fighting? It looked like dance moves the way he would jump up, slice a few Japanese and then twirl as he was landing. That was awesome, the way he was just killing the enemy like nothing. I did feel really bad as he was being killed, even up to his last breath he was trying to fight.
Anyways my heart was literally racing as I was watching the battle unfold. I seriously thought the Japanese were going to take over Jinji Fort. Then the other Chosun soldiers and citizen's army shows up, that was priceless. Here is Wakizaka and his big ego, thinking he could take over the fort, and after fighting for 6 days is defeated. 3,800 against 30,000, amazing. I need to start reading books on the history of Korea. I just find it so fascinating that an army of 3,800 could defeat an army of 30,000. And it was obviously an intense battle cause they fought for 6 days. Actually the number of people fighting at Jinji Fort was alot less then 3,800, I can't remember what the number was.
I have one question, in the episode they show Jinji Fort being attacked a second time by 100,000 Japanese. Does anybody know if they conquer the Fort this time?
